Turkey Stuffing

Recommended Posts

I know you must all think I am a pest but I am trying to get my receipes ready for the holiday.

This question has to do with the stuffing.

I am gonna use Stove Top stuffing mix for Turkey this year.

It says, prepared per 1/2 cup serving:

Calories 170

Fiber 0

Fat 1

Points would than be 4 correct?

But it uses 4 Tbsp margarine. Now if I used Butter Buds wouldn't that cut down on the points? I love stuffing so I am trying to find the least amount of points possible.

Thanks

Linda

Linda,

Don't hold me to it, but check the box. I thought I remembered seeing somewhere on it about a lowfat option, by reducing or omitting all together the margarine.

When I make boxed stuffing at home, I simply leave out the margarine/butter. I dont' even notice!!! AND it ends up being only 3 points for 1/2 cup.

Not only do I leave out the fat but I add finely chopped celery, onions and mushrooms to add texture, flavour and bulk.
