Baked Pennsylvania Dutch Oatmeal

Recommended Posts

I made the baked oatmeal yesterday substituting cranberries for the other dried fruit. It is very yummy. I did cut the recipe in half cause no one else will eat cranberries at my house. I noticed though that it took a long time to set up. It kind of tastes like a bread pudding only with oatmeal. I cut it in 1/4 instead of 1/3 so it was only 3 points and served it with some skim milk and Smuckers Sugar Free Syrup. (I like it better than the splenda sweetened one I have at home. It really stuck with me. I had it again this morning.

Thanks for the good recipe.

Susan

I have this in the oven now. Could it be made with steel cut oats instead of rolled oats? Just curious as I rarely buy rolled oats. Also, I heard someone say freeze it? Is it freezable? Does it taste o.k. when thawed? This could be si/fi recipe, right? Depending on the kind and type of fruit, sweetener and milk used.
