latebloomer 0 Posted November 2, 2004 Have you actually made this? How does it compare to light ice cream? It is screaming "abuse potential" to me but maybe it isn't that good? Inquiring minds want to know! Â How weird of me to not want it to be that good..... Latebloomer
ottermum 0 Posted November 2, 2004  Have you actually made this? How does it compare to light ice cream? It is screaming "abuse potential" to me but maybe it isn't that good? Inquiring minds want to know!  How weird of me to not want it to be that good.....   Well, I haven't made this recipe, but I've made one of these faux ice creams before, to be honest I'd rather have even lowfat frozen yogurt than this kind of thing. Doesn't rock my world, but I thought I'd pass it along, mostly just to bug people.  I hope that "ice cream" isn't FROZEN!....... Why not at all! It's just very deeply chilled in a special container made just for very deeply chilling certain mixtures. I wouldn't call it frozen in the least! The word "freeze" in the instructions was a direct quote from the book, which I believe had been mistakenly translated from the original Nepalese. I can be trusted not to post anything here that could be considered "Non-Core"!  (love the gif, btw! We need to get that one over here ) Jeannette  "I have searched for the phrase "I shall walk the Earth and my hunger will know no bounds", but I keep getting redirected to Weight Watchers." A friend came by and ate bowfuls of something I considered inedible?! (It was Pumpkin "Ice Cream", made with FF sweetened condensed milk and I threw the recipe away... ) May you be happy. ottermum 0 Posted November 3, 2004 Ottermum...You are such a sweetheart~  Well, Carol, to quote Kevin Kline in one of my all time favorite movies (French Kiss)- "What can I say? I am an a**h---."  I have tried making many faux ice creams and haven't found one worth eating! I made one peach monstrosity also with sweentened condensed milk I got either from WW or CL magazine, and like you I had to toss it. No one would eat it, and I can't blame them. I'd rather use my points on some Chapman's Lowfat Chocolate Frozen Yogurt- 2 points for 1/2 cup. YUM!!  I tried making Pupmkin Ice cream by mixing canned pumpkin with Haagen Daaz Vanilla ice cream per a recipe I found in Parents Magazine. Absolutely revolting!! I miss B-R's Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream.. Jeannette  "I have searched for the phrase "I shall walk the Earth and my hunger will know no bounds", but I keep getting redirected to Weight Watchers."
