Cake with Diet Coke or Diet Mt. Dew

Recommended Posts

Last night I used the Funfetti cake with diet 7-Up, and it was great. I did not use a frosting because the cake was so rich and moist that it didn't need it.

For those whose cakes fall apart, did you spray the pan first with a nonstick spray? I did, and it came right out in one piece. I did let it cool first.

I forgot, I also used 2 egg whites, maybe that also helped it hold together. It sure is good.

Hello out there! I am new at this so please be patient with me. I have questions about this recipe. How do you calculate the points? Do you use the info on your cake mix box? If so, what about the frosting? It sounds like you can use any cake/pop mixture that you think might be good? I thought I might try it as muffins.

Hi... All you need to do is mix any box of cake mix with any can of soda. You pick the flavors. Than bake it as directed in the oven. Some people add an egg to make it hold together better but I make cupcakes instead.

Another variation is to add a small can of pumpkin to the cake mix. Again bake as directed or make cup cakes.

I want to make a white cake and frost it white with raspberries/strawberries. Any ideas on what flavor soda to use?

OK so I made the white cake with diet ginger ale. Frosted it with sf instant pudding/ff cool whip. I put drops of coconut extract in the batter and the frosting and topped it with coconut. At the last minute I added raspberries on top. very good, moist and fluffy.

Haven't been on the "WAGON" for so long.....but now back to meetings and living the life. This cake was GREAT with a small can of pumpkin, 1 egg white and ANY flavor of coke. Mix for 2-3 minutes and pour into pans for the recommended amount of time. Saves the 1/2 cup of oil and 3 egg calories. No one in the family will be able to tell the difference!

It's my birthday tomorrow and my DD is planning a party. I'll be bringing one of those cakes for me! I'm on a losing roll and I don't want to do anything to stop it now! Thanks!

I'm really excited about making this recipie. Question, if I do a box of milk chocolate cake mix with 1 can of diet soda to make cupcakes, how many points per cupcake? not sure how to divide it up. I think a whole box of cake mix makes about 24 cupcakes...

I made the cake last night! I used a box ox Betty Crocker Devil's Food Cake mix and a 12oz. can of coke zero. It is delicious!!! It baked up very fluffy and moist! But children inhaled it!!!! I feel guilty for eating it becasue you get a good chuck for 1/12 of the cake. I feel like it should be more points. I think I'll try the vanilla with sprite zero next.

Another variation is a box of angel food cake mix and a can of crushed pineapple. Just mix together and bake. I like it with a touch of cool whip on top. Makes a nice treat.
