Yams-Need Advice on Preparing

Recommended Posts

I've never made yams before because I just didn't like them. I'm going to make them for a family dinner tonight and I'd welcome advice or point friendly recipes from folks.

If you're simply baking them, treat them like baked potatoes. I'd use foil under them, they tend to leak some real sticky stuff that is hard to get off a cookie sheet.

Thanks Frisky. I checked out the recipe thread and got some good ideas. If I decide to roast them in chunks, should I peel them or leave skin on?

Peel them is my choice. The skin is not like white potatoes. My opinion is it is not edible.

How long do you cook them for?
