Raspberry Pie

Recommended Posts

1 low-fat graham cracker crust

1 8oz container FF Cool Whip

2 cups fresh raspberries

1 sm pkg SF raspberry jello

2 tbls cornstarch

1 cup diet 7 UP

Mix diet 7 UP and cornstarch in saucepan. Cook until thick. Add dry jello and mix well. Place raspberries in the crust. Pour jello mixture over raspberries. Top with Cool Whip.

I figure this is about 2-3 pts per 1/8 of the pie.

This looks terrific, thank you!!

I think I might make it for dessert tonight, but as raspberries are currently worth their weight in gold up here, I think I'll use strawberries (just worth their weight in silver  )

Thanks again!

Jeanette~ I am going to try it with strawberries too! I just got two pounds @ 99c per pound. I think I will go back and buy more to try with this pie. Let me know how yours is, and I'll do the same!

Hi MT!!

You got a better deal on strawberries than I did! I paid $4.00 for a lb., but cheaper than raspberries.

I made this and my family really liked it! I ran it through MC, and as I can't get rf pie crust I have to use regular ones. So in order to keep it at 3 points (3.2) per serving I reduced the amount of cool whip by half, but it was still great!

It turned out really well, and so easy!

Jeanette~

I made this last night, but we haven't cut into it yet. Maybe when DH comes home from work @ 4:00. I also made the Key Lime Pie last night (with the Jello, yogurt, and CoolWhip). I froze it this time and we had a slice of that last night for desert. Excellent! Thanks for letting me know about your success!

This pie was delicious. I made it as posted above, except because strawberries were on sale I made it with strawberries and strawberry/banana jello. It was great, and DH loved it too! Thanks for a great recipe!

Momof3rugratz~

I did not sweeten the strawberries. The sweetness came from the diet soda and the jello. I know my DH liked it because we went out with friends last night and he told them I made a delicious dessert, and he was talking about this pie! Hope you have success with it too!

This weekend I found a sale on DelMonte jar peaches ~ Buy One Get Two free. I tried this pie with the peaches and some SF Peach Jello. It was also very good!

I have to note that I was never so creative with recipes until Weight Watchers took over my life... now I look to adjust everything and make dishes into new different dishes... It's kind of fun.

It's mini challenges;)

Okay, I did this manually because I plan on making this pie for the next holiday I can (otherwise I will eat it all!).

I used calorieking.com which has been very reliable in my experience. I manually plugged in each amount and here is what I got.

piecrust 736; 28; 0

ff cool whip 379; 0; 0

rasp 121; 1.2; 17.2

jello 16; 0; 0

cornstarch approx. 15; 0; 0

diet soda 0;0;0

totals

1267; 29.2; 17.2

per serving

158.375; 3.65; 2.15

points

3.04166= 3pts

REJOICE!!! I don't trust automatic programs I guess but I love Calorie King! Also, agreed that the crust makes up half of the calories in this thing and almost all of the fat!!!

I'm excited!

Okay, when the recipe imported, there was a glitch in that recipe that wouldn't go away. I had to type it in by hand :o

My sincere and humble apologies to everyone, especially Sarah (PinkGlttr) and wommie!! I can't figure out what happened

What's *really* annoying is that I ran it through 3 times and came up with the same answer, only this time is it different:

There still is one issue though, and that's the cool whip. There is .45 grams of fat in a serving of Fat free cool whip, so when you add up a whole container there is actually quite a bit of fat. Cool Whip Free and Ultra Low Fat Cool Whip are the same thing (according to Kraft Canada) and the nutrition is the same for both products even though they are labeled differently (different laws up here). The fat count is accurate.

Crust 720 calories, 28 grams fat; 0 fibre

Fat Free Cool whip (in Canada Ultra Low Fat Cool Whip) 350.8 calories; 9.3 grams fat 0 fibre

2 cups raspberries 124 Calories; 1g Fat; 17g Dietary Fiber

Sugar Free raspberry jello 40 calories

corn starch 61 calories

Diet 7 up 0;0;0

Totals:

1295.8 cal; 38.3 grams fat; 17 grams fibre

divided by 8

161.975 calories;4.7875 grams fat; 2.125 fibre= 3.46 points
