I tried this an although it never set it still was really good. Any idea why mine didn't set?

Did you use instant pudding? or the one that requires cooking? Definitely want the instant!

I'm going to try this tonight... I'd like to put some bananas in it, do you know how long they would last (days?) once they're in the mixture? I don't want them to go bad before we're done with it!

hi all! this sounds really good, i think it would be good with a cheesecake pudding and cheey jello !!! yum.. if you make the cake , how many slices do you cut it into for 2 pts a slice?

Thanks Katie for sharing this recipe!!

 

I made it last night before we went to the Football game...was looking forward to having a bowl of it when I got home, last target point in the day, it was wonderful!! I used strawberry banana jello and banana cream pudding mix, it was like I had a bowl of banana pudding...YUM!!!

I'll have to make it once a week like I make the pumpkin/cake mix muffins!!!

Ok, so i had a few questions regarding this recipie and i finally got around to figuring it out:

 

the serving size is, indeed, ½ cup. An 8 oz serving is 2 pts.

 

If you make this recipie with the RF graham cracker crust, it makes each serving (1/8 of a pie) 3 pts, not 2 as i had originally understood....

 

I think the way different questions were asked and responded to made it a little confusing...it did to me, at least...For awhile there, i was making this recipie with the RF crust and counting it as 2 pts...woops!

You have to try the creamsicle ---Orange jello , vanilla pudding & ff coolwhip and add a can of drained mandarin oranges. This is a family favorite!

Would this work like the 1pt strawberry pie, if I put sliced strawberries at the bottom of the dish and then pour in the fluff and refridgerate?

I have a similar recipe...same "mouse" texture.. 2 (4 oz) boxes of the FF/SF chocolate pudding with 1 & 1/2 cups skim milk and mixed the FF cool whip in after....great way to get a milk serving in! It made a yummy chocolate mouse. You could put this in a pie crust as well, but I don't. I just put it in pudding cups and refridgerate...the Kids LOVE it too!

 

If I eat more than one serving of it then I add a point...but if I don't eat anymore than one serving I don't count the point. It helps me keep portions in control.

 

*I follow CORE so the only thing that would count for points is the FF cool whip and that's less than 1 pt per serving...that's why I count the points that way.

Bumping it up

 

Making this in 2 minutes after I am done typing. I am trying cheesecake pudding with raspberry jello. I happen to everything in the house already so I am off to put it together. I will post how it turn out.

 

what is the serving size? how many points?

 

I saw both 1 cup and 1/2 cup. Just make sure I count correctly before I dive in.

Hey guys,

Has anyone considered freezing this ? I'm always looking for a substitute for my ice cream. I just made this and popped some into small containers and into the freezer. I'll let you know how it turns out. I made cherry and vanilla.

Have you tried the Breakfast Ice Creams? I love them. Great texture and enough natural fiber so that a smaller portion satisfies me.

 

I've included several from my file. I like the banana and strawberry, or banana and peach, or banana and chocolate. Guess you can tell I like that banana!! :)

(use food processor) Do not double recipe!

For each recipe, put all ingredients in a food processor, puree on high and hold on tight. Each makes about 1 1/2 cups of ice cream and serves 2 children. For a thinner smoothie, just add a ½ cup of milk.

 

Really Easy Strawberry Breakfast Ice Cream

(Rich in vitamins C and K, potassium, folate, calcium, fiber, and protein)

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries, without syrup or added sweeteners

1/2 cup milk

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

Can add coconut extractor DV to the banana and a little bit of pineapple

 

Extra Sneaky Strawberry Breakfast Ice Cream

(Rich in vitamins C and K, potassium, folate, calcium, fiber and protein)

1/4 ripe avocado

1/2 cup frozen strawberries, without syrup or added sweeteners

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

Can add coconut extractor DV to the banana and a little bit of pineapple

Variation: 3/4 c frozen strawberries, 1/4 c milk and 1 packet of Splenda or more - great texture!

 

Banana Breakfast Ice Cream

(Rich in vitamins B6, C, potassium, fiber, calcium, and protein)

1 frozen banana, cut in pieces (about 1 cup)

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

Can add coconut extractor DV to the banana and a little bit of pineapple

Or add blueberries

 

Chocolate Banana Breakfast Ice Cream

(Rich in vitamins B6, C, potassium, fiber, calcium, protein, and antioxidants)

1 frozen banana, cut in pieces (about 1 cup)

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Can add frozen banana/cherries with cocoa

 

Insanely good pina colada!

frozen banana

handful of frozen pineapple chunks- separate - not one big hunk

splenda to taste

FF yogurt 2 TBS or so

1/2 tsp coconut extract

 

Creamy Dreamy Banana Icecream

2 bananas

½ c milk

(I added some SF Vanilla pudding – 1 T or to taste)

 

 

Fruit Sorbet Makes 2 large servings at 1 2/5ths pt. each.

1 frozen *ripe* banana (1 pt.)

1 C. frozen strawberries (2/3rds of a point)

1 C. frozen red grapes (1 pt. - mine are homegrown, tiny, and VERY sweet)

Add 1/4-1/2 C. vanilla soymilk (1 pt.) to reach *sorbet* (or ice cream) consistency while processing in the VM. (I also made this with 1 Yoplait Frozen Espresse Yogurt tube, 1 point.)

I didn't need to add any sugar, syrups, or sugar substitute to sweeten.

Adjust sweetness, depending upon your ingredients and taste.

 

Strawberry Yogurt Freeze (using a Vitamix) Yield: 3 cups

1 C. nonfat yogurt (plain, vanilla, or strawberry)

3 C. whole frozen strawberries, unsweetened

1 TBS. sweetener, to taste (I use DV SF syrups=0pt)

Place ingredients in container in order listed.

Secure two part lid.

Select *variable*, speed #1.

Turn on machine and quickly increase speed to #10; then to *high*..

Remove the lid plug and insert the tamper through the lid opening to help push the ingredients into the blades until the mixture is smooth.

A loud pulling sound will indicated that the mixture is frozen and has formed 4 mounds (about 30-60 seconds.)

Watch your mixture carefully; running the machine longer does not make it more frozen - it causes melting.

Serve immediately.

 

Orange Sorbet Yield: 3 cups

2 oranges, peeled, seeded and quartered

2 TBS. sweetener, to taste

4 C. ice cubes

Place all ingredients in VM in order listed.(See directions above.)

Press cubes into the blades with the tamper while the machine is processing.

Within 30 seconds the ingredients should be well blended.

 

Other Good suggestions for the breakfast icecream:

- PB2 and unsweetened cocoa and soymilk and banana and dried egg whites

-frozen mango, strawberries and milk

-frozen peaches and strawberries, a tbs of ff plain yogurt, a dash of skim milk and a spoonful of honey.

 

Bananas Rhyder Yield: 2 servings

2 ea bananas, frozen

1 ea apple, sliced and frozen

2 ea pears, sliced and frozen

1/2 c plain low-fat yogurt

Slice the bananas.

Place them and the remaining ingredients in

a food processor or blender and puree. It is usually necessary

to turn off the processor or blender every 30 seconds or so and

mash down any lumps with a soft plastic spoon.

Serve immediately.

 

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

1 1/2 c frozen strawberries

1/3 c ff cottage cheese

1/2 c ff milk or ff plain yogurt

2 tsp sf vanilla davinci

splenda to taste

UNBELIEVABLY good & creamy!!!

 

ice-cream - you scream

16 ounces of non fat plain yogurt

1 pkg instant sf ff banana pudding

1 small can pineapple tidbits in its own juice , drained

1/3 teas cinnamon

1/4 teas ginger

in a blender, or a large bowl using a hand beater, mix yogurt and fruit gently. add pudding mix and spices and blend well. Place in a tightly closed plastic container and freeze until firm.

bump. this was a hit last thanksgiving, so i am making it again. i'm using individual graham cracker crust servings for a 3 pt delight. I put a dab of FF reddi whip and a couple of berries on top...everyone raved!

ok i have some questions...sorry if this is stupid but what is RF graham cracker crust????

 

also im getting confused with the serving size and points... so say i use the ff/sf jello and pudding and the ff cool whip... is it 1/2 cup for 1pt or 1cup for 1pt????
