This kinda thing interests me too...my dream job, I think, is to run a resort for Missionaries, a place where they can come to rest, relax and just be. Mission work is a blessing, and hard stuff to do. A place where they can be taken care of and just enjoy themselves, a place where they do not have to be "on"...people that do missions have ALOT expected of them...

as well, I have always wanted to own my own coffee shop...YUMMY> coffee coffee coffee...lets hear it for COFFEE

oh...by the way. I am a sahm...I LOVE being a sahm, but it won't latst forever.

I make a choice to choose the JOY of the LORD today...and tomorrow...and to make each day count for HIM.

Wow - what an interesting group of people!

I homeschool my two youngest kids during the day. We have 6 kids so we've been doing this for 22 years - the oldest is 27, and the oldest 4 have graduated and are either in college or have graduated. In the evenings I work part time as a secretary in the ER. It's interesting and I don't have to actually touch the yucky stuff like the nurses do. It's not my dream job, though - I'm not an adrenaline junky like the ER nurses and docs seem to be.

I think I'd have to go with esthetician, too. It's so peaceful and calm at the spa. Professional spa client sounds good too :).

I used to live in Spokane - good place to be if you want to train to be a nurse!

I am a bartender for an off-track betting facility/ restaurant in MD. I am in the right field just not quite the ideal position for my dream job. I would love to own and manage my own restaurant. But due to the hours and money involved, that is not possible right now.

I am a supervisor of a Social Services company that works with children and adults with mental health/behavior problems, or have suffered a traumatic experience. I also work part-time for a friend's pizza shop and am a volunteer firefighter.

My dream job would be a job that works with horses and pays very well! But, my real dream job would be a SAHM for my soon-to-be 3 year old. It's so hard to leave her every day and let someone else be with her the majority of her day.:sobbing:

I have my own business called Canine Capers. I am a stay at home mom also and I get paid to walk dogs.. I get paid to exercise.

I love not working in Corporate America.. I did that for 16 years.. and I was sick of dealing with SH--! Now I pick up dog SH--! and I would rather do that any day than be a cog in a wheel at some company!!

I love animals and I love getting paid to exercise!

I am a Recreation Therapist but have not practiced in the last year. Right now I am a SAHM to 3 little ones. That is a great job.... BUT...

My dream job would be training people how to ride horses! I used to train horses and "break" or "start" them, whichever you prefer, for the last 15 yrs...but after a serious injury, that is not an option now. So many people have horses and don't know the first thing about how to ride. I would love to teach people all day long how to ride correctly.

Someday I will, I am working on that now. Dh and I are saving up for our own horse farm.

Well right now I'm a student, looking for a job. :help: Its hard when you just turned 16 and have no experince not very many people want to hire you. But I'm going into animal care not sure exactly the field of specialty but everything will fall in place. I'll be taking summer school program that has hands on training with the animals and such. So I'm excited. I love animals and think this is going in the right path.

I'd like 1 of 2. Right now I stay at home with the kids but I hope to go back to school in a few years when the kids are older.

My dream job would be to train dolphins and whales, especially helping injured ones get back to health

My second (if I had the money and the years to spare) would be a doctor of a clinic so that everyone who cant afford healthcare and surgeries could come to me and get it done free :)

OK! I want to change my answer! My dream job would be to run a horseback riding thing on the beach of a Carribean island and, of course, live on the farm so I can be a SAHM, too! Also, I will hire lots of people so I can be a beach bum whenever I wanted! Thanks for the idea, Cherry!

I used to work for a retail chain which I hated. I never went to college and I always regretted it until recently. This is going to sound corny but I actually have my ideal job. I am a stay at home mom who works from the home using the phone and the computer to refer customers to buy Melaleuca products. All their products are kidsafe and environmentally safe plus they work better then name brand stuff. So not only to I get to stay home with my son and see all his "firsts" but I also get to help other people do the same thing, and make their homes cleaner and safer. I REALLY love my job! In fact if anyone else thinks they might like to do it too they can e-mail me and I'll work with you step by step along the way.

I'm a Brand Marketing Specialist for a Fortune 100 company. This basically means I'm the project manager for the execution of some of the different marketing communications (tv & radio advertising, store promotions, etc.) my company puts out each year. I also help manage our sponsorships of various events and sporting teams. This was my ideal while I was in college working for my degree, and then the various entry-level jobs I had after graduating.

Now? My ideal job is to be independently wealthy. But seriously, I would like more creative input, less office politics, more participation in the strategic planning. Then I would have my ideal job (besides investing the money I won from the lottery... :D )

Hi,

This is an interesting thread -- to read about your jobs. I am Assistant Treasurer of a school district -- my main duty is payroll. BUT in two months, I will be retired!!!! Love that "job". Retiree!!! :headover: I have worked for 28 1/2 years, and it is time to do something else. First and foremost -- to relax and do some fun things with DH and our grandkids!

ok...who was it that said a homemaker that never has to get up early???? lol...ok. I am a homemaker, for have been for 13 years...my idea of sleeping in is 9:15 maybe once a month on a Saturday...I do have to say we have 3 boys, ages 12, 8, and 7...so my homemaking is pretty busy....but I do not know too many homemakers that sleep in....and I know a few...the thread just made me laugh really hard...so had to throw my 2 cents in...being a homemaker has been fun. I am ready to join the work force and will do so the week school starts ~ working for the school systems as a sub teacher/aide ~ that will be a dream job as I have the holidays the kids have off, get to be with them after school....and get paid to do what I have volunteered to do for so long. God is good!
