Oriental Salad.. is this core

Hi there... is this core, or how can it be changed...

 

I made it today, but used a 1/2 recipe for the dressing...I also did not use the sunflower seeds, and used pkg almonds and did not saute them

 

Oriental Salad

~2 pkg Ramen Beef flavored noodles

~1# pkg Cole Slaw Mix, or Broccoli Slaw Mix

~1 cup Sunflower seeds - optional

~1 cup toasted Silvered Almonds (sauté in EVOO till brown… )

~1 bunch chopped green onions

~Cut up breaded chicken tenders, baked (optional)

 

 

~Break up noodles and put them and the rest of ingredients in a large bowl

~Put on dressing (below) just before serving

 

 

 

Dressing:

1-cup oil

1/3-cup vinegar

½ cup sugar

2 Broth packets from noodles

¼ tsp salt

Pepper to taste

Heat dressing in micro a few seconds todissolve sugar…mix well

Not very much of this is core.

 

These are the only Core items.

 

1# pkg Cole Slaw Mix, or Broccoli Slaw Mix

1 bunch chopped green onions

up to 2 teaspoons of the 1-cup oil IF it's a healthy oil

1/3-cup vinegar

¼ tsp salt

 

 

I'm not sure what you could sub for ramen noodles that would be core. If you love this, I'd just count the points. IMO, it would be hard to make core.

I'm not on Flex and it would probably be faster to run through a recipe builder, I'm bored so I'll give it a shot.

 

Each packet of ramen noodles has 8 points, so that's 16 in noodles.

The cup of sugar is 15 points, but you could sub Splenda maybe. If you half the dressing that would be half the sugar, or 7.5 points.

The oil has 57 points, half dressing would be 28.5.

The almonds have 20 points.

 

So the entire recipe, with half dressing, has 72 points in point-able items. If you pointed it out per serving trying to add in the fiber of the cole slaw mix to lower the points, that might "help."

 

I'd say use splenda, half or less of the almonds, half or less of the oil for the dressing, no sunflower seeds, and definitely no breaded chicken tenders.
