Value of Frozen vs Cooked Foods

Recommended Posts

I am confused  when weighing foods on a kitchen scale.

With frozen chicken tenders - the package gives me the nutritional value of the tenders. BUT my confusion comes from whether you weigh the food while frozen (4.7 oz) or after it is cooked (2.6 oz).

With boneless skinless chicken breast, I want a 3 oz serving - do I weight the fresh chicken before cooking or after cooking.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

AFTER cooking!!

If you weigh before cooking you are going to get a lot of water weight in there that's going to evaporate when you cook it.
