Core Mocha Frappacino

Recommended Posts

I've been experimenting with my new Osterizer (Oster Classic Beehive) blender with frappucino's - here's one to share:

1 1/2 cups crushed ice

1 cup skim milk (or combine with FF evap milk if you like it richer)

2 T. SF FF choc pudding powder

1 heaping teaspoon instant coffee

1 T SF syrup (I've been using almond)

Blend to a shake consistency.

I make smooties/frappacinos ALOT in the summer. I often use that last bit of coffee from the morning with FF milk, ice and some DV syrup, but I never thought to put FF pudding in it. What a great idea! At night I like to use tons of ice to make it thick and "ice cream-like"(well, almost:bcb_wink3 ). Can't wait to try it with pudding! Thanks!

That does sound good! :bcb_grin Thanks.

Here's an old one from Paris that is pretty darned good, too~

"Starbucks Light Frappacino Clone by ParisMad

1 ¼ cups double-strength French roast coffee, chilled

¾ cup fat-free evaporated milk

6 Splenda packets [WWCarol: I used 6 squirts of DV SF "Chocolate"]

2 cups ice

[WWCarol: I added 1-2 TBS. unsweetened cocoa powder]

Make double strength French roast coffee by brewing with twice the grounds required by your coffee maker. That should be 2 tablespoons of grounds per each cup of coffee. Be sure to chill this before you use it in the drink or the ice will melt.

To make the drinks, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until the ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses.

If you like a flavored Frappacino, add Da Vinci syrup to taste.

Serves 2 @ 1 ½ points each & a CORE recipe

Note: I've not tried it but this version got rave reviews at the Cooking Light bulletin boards."

May you be happy. May you be well. May you be free from suffering.

I've been making these every day this summer, and gotten lazy, plus it's sweet enough with out the syrup:

1 cup crushed ice

1 cup skim milk

2 T. SF FF choc pudding powder

1 heaping teaspoon instant coffee

The instant powder adds a richness to the frapp that brewed coffee won't give you because of the added liquid.

If the foods are Core and you're on the Core plan, you don't have to count (you have to count everything but the 'free' foods on Flex). It's been so long since I've counted points for Core foods, I don't have a good way to calculate the points anymore. I use the WeightWatcher E-tools, and it just lists the ingredients as Core and doesn't show the points.
