Question on point calculation (double serving)

First day on the diet here. :o

 

I had two lean pockets for lunch. Now on the box they are 5 points individually which is what I expect. Now since there are 4 grams of fiber in each and I had two, is this now 10 points or 12 points? I calculated 12 by multiplying everything by 2 and then using the sliding scale..

from what i understand the 12 is correct...this was a subject in one of my WW

 

meetings...it sure opened my eyes...i love to eat 2 of the ww cakes at once..

it does change the points from 1 each to 3 points for 2!!!!!

Now the problem I have is this:

 

So I ate 12 lean pockets for 12 points + a fruit smoothie. Do I add all the cals + fib and fat for the meal and calculate that way or is the points just per serving of the same food?

only double the points if you double the food. so 2 lean pockets double

 

The smoothie is different and counted on its own...

The smoothie is different and counted on its own...

Just so I know, and this is the was I have been doing it, so I hope I am right. To find out your points for a double serving, you don't double the calories, fat & fiber, then calculate. You need to calculate a single serving and then times the points by the number of servings. Right?

I've heard that it can be done this way, however the "official" way you should be calculating multiple servings is what was described above. You double the calories, fat and fiber, cap the fiber at 4 and re-calculate the points. You don't just double the points for one serving. So, while you have been doing it "wrong" if it's been working for you go ahead and continue. You just want to be consistant.
