Microwave/Convection combo

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have one of these? We just got one yesterday to replace our really old microwave that just bit the dust.

I tried cooking a couple things today in convection mode and it took much longer than I thought. I'm wondering if there are certain things that do better than others.

Any good cookbooks, websites or tips you have to share? I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Joanne, I have a convection oven in my regular oven, and love it. Recipes like the oven fried chicken, and the fish, come out wonderful. I use it for about everything. One tip the salesman told me, is to always put the food in a baking pan with a low side. No more than an inch. High sided pans like pyrex, block the air flow. In small things the difference in time, is just a couple of minutes. But it knocks about an hour off of a whole turkey. Oh yeah, that is my DH favorite thing in the convection oven is turkey. The air kinda seals it, and it comes out really moist.
