plcm111195 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Anyone else have one of these? We just got one yesterday to replace our really old microwave that just bit the dust. Â I tried cooking a couple things today in convection mode and it took much longer than I thought. I'm wondering if there are certain things that do better than others. Â Any good cookbooks, websites or tips you have to share? I'd love to hear them. Thanks! Joanne SW 252.6/WWG 157/2013 Restart 192.6:bcb_huh:/CW189
140karen 10 Posted October 22, 2007 Joanne, I have a convection oven in my regular oven, and love it. Recipes like the oven fried chicken, and the fish, come out wonderful. I use it for about everything. One tip the salesman told me, is to always put the food in a baking pan with a low side. No more than an inch. High sided pans like pyrex, block the air flow. In small things the difference in time, is just a couple of minutes. But it knocks about an hour off of a whole turkey. Oh yeah, that is my DH favorite thing in the convection oven is turkey. The air kinda seals it, and it comes out really moist. Karen Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why can! Â
