It's Time to Get With It-Again

Recommended Posts

Oh boy. (Big sigh here).

Too many excuses to list and none of them really valid. The fact is that I have not been putting my eating and exercise program first.

I realize that I just came back from a nursing conference. Food was everywhere. Every 2 hours they were feeding us again. There were good choices available. Unfortunately, I did not make them.

My weight is up to a new high.

I am turning things around right here and right now.

I had an eggbeater/veggie/soy cheese omelet and some muesli for breakfast. I am 80% full. When I finish this post I am going to the gym.

I've got a trip to Denver/Colorado Springs planned and am leaving Friday morning for 5 days. I will make wiser choices on that trip.

Donna,

GOOD for you to catch this at 10lbs instead of it going even higher. With the quick onset gains, come quick onset losses so you should be back to goal weight in no time! At one point, I was up to 165lbs in August but it was back down to 155lbs by the end of the month!

Donna~ WE know you can do it, and I'm sure you know it too! You have been so helpful to so many of us, just let us know how we can help you. Oh, if only losing weight was as easy as gaining! You can put it on in a day or two, but it may take a week or more to lose it :bcb_confu :bcb_huh:! Glad you caught yourself and came back here, we've missed you!

Donna just look at your numbers. You are an inspiration to people like me. Taking it off and keeping it off are so different. So you caught yourself and are being honest to yourself and you'll do fine. Congratulations. I am not so sure I'll be able to catch myself when the time comes and I thank you for your honesty.

You guys are so helpful! I feel better just reading your comments. Thank you.

I'm back from the gym. 60 min intervals on the treadmill.

Now I'm heading to the shower, and then to a 12:15pm WW meeting.

I am determined!

I am so glad I went back to a meeting. It was just what I needed.

The leader was happy to see me, hugged me and called me by name.

The receptionists were both happy to see me.

I was right back in the groove.

Now, off to make a green salad with canned beans on top, and some core soup with some wheat berries, and either strawberries or a peach.

This morning I felt hopeless when I got on the scale. Right now I am feeling confident and in-charge!

Donna - oh boy, that must have felt bad seeing that number on the scake. Know what would feel even worse? Ignoring it.

You ride this wave of enthusiasm until you get the patterns back.

I had been wondering where you were. Glad to see you here again.:salut

Donna,

In case you missed this post by Lynn last week.....it is profoundly wise......as is her tag line. I know I need to ponder this principal...:bcb_march

I think the key to STAYING at goal is to attend a meeting AT LEAST every month. I have had a LOT of people reach goal in my Monday night meeting which has only been in existance for two years, LOTS of them are there more frequently than the necessary once a month. At my Saturday morning meeting I now have THREE lifetime members at goal that are attending WEEKLY meetings. It is such a great statement for those still losing...Those lifetime members at goal are STILL on the journey, and in many ways it is the exact same journey...just a slightly different part of the trip! And they are VERY aware of the need to KEEP COMING TO MEETINGS! I always say that no one gains their weight back while attending weekly meetings!!

And for me, "attending" weekly meetings...you know, where I have to stand in front of everybody and talk, is a REALLY great way to stay at goal!!

Yes, I did miss Lynn's post last week.

Today has been easier. Of course, the first day is always easy.

I'm leaving for a trip on Friday morning. I'll miss next week's Monday meeting, but will go to a different meeting either Thursday or Friday after work (whichever day I don't have to do any overtime).

Go, Donna, go!! I remember going to conferences and all the food that was always available. More times than not, it was junk with lots of calories and high in fat. It's hard to chose the healthier alternatives, but if you can it, you feel like you're so in control and on top of the world.

So glad you're back on track! :salut:salut

You guys are the best!

Did I mention how much better I do when I check in here every day?

I've got my menu all set for tomorrow. I've emailed it to my leader.

I missed you guys.
