Hawaiian Banana Bars


1/4 cup shortening

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup bananas

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup nuts

1. Combine: shortening; vanilla; bananas; brown sugar; lemon juice.

2. Blend well;MIX: b.

3. powder; flour; salt Slowly add to banana mixture; Blend well Stir in; nuts.

4. Bake in 11x7 sprayed pan, 350, 30 to 35 min.

5. CUT while warm.


Makes 15 bars (generous serving) 168.4 calories; 5.94g fat; .99g fiber; 4 points each
