AKK 10 Posted July 9, 2009 Hi All, I wanted to know how many calories are in a point. I understand that a variety of factors determine a point, but is there an average number per point? Thanks! Â AKK Â SW: 150 CW: 145 GW:
Luanne 0 Posted July 9, 2009 No, there really isn't an average. A point can have anywhere from 20 to 120 calories. Some people use somewhere around 50 - 60. But, my question is, why do you need to know, or care? If you want to know how many calories you're eating per day the only way to be sure is to track them. WendyG 10 Posted July 10, 2009 If you want calories use thedailyplate.com Or even sparkspeople.com  Like Luanne said to may things come into play. And even tho Veggies are zero. They do contain calories.
SurferGirl 0 Posted July 11, 2009 True. Veggies do have calories. That's why WW changed 1 c of carrots from 0 points to 1 point. Â I do use 50 cal = 1 point as a guideline, but (when I don't have my point calculator with me) I also look at how much fiber and fat are in the product and adjust accordingly. Otherwise, I consult the food book or I have my calculator. WendyG 10 Posted July 14, 2009 That's only for cooked carrots BTW. They cook down a lot.
