Quick Linguine with Red Clam Sauce

Linguine with Red Claim Sauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

12 ounces linguine -- uncooked

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 teaspoons minced garlic -- (bottled is OK & fast)

25 1/2 ounces marinara sauce -- such as Muir Glen

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

3 6.5 ounce cans chopped clams -- undrained

 

Cook pasta according to directions, omitting fat & salt.

 

Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic, saute

2 min. Stir in marinara, tomato paste and red pepper; bring to a

simmer. Drain clams, reserve liquid, set clams aside. Stir reserved

clam juice into sauce and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in clams,

simmer 3 minutes. Serve pasta with sauce.
