kat0303 10 Posted June 2, 2010 Does anyone know how many points are in whole wheat spaghetti noodles? I made spaghetti tonight, and the package for the noodles had the serving in dry weight, so I got confused on how to get the points measured out after they are cooked. I ate a cup of the noodles after cooking, but have no idea how many points that was. Thanks! SW: 196.6 CW: 193.0 (-0.3 this week) GW: 140 Starting date: 5/25/10  Weigh in Wed! Guest LostButNowAmFound Posted June 4, 2010 That is so funny how you posted this...I was just looking for this on the net. I made whole wheat spaghetti today for dinner and for 1 cup of noodles it's 3 pts.
Guest WANNALOOZIT Posted June 4, 2010 I think regular spaghetti noodles is 4 pts per cup in case you would ever use those. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the whole wheat noodles, anyone else having the same issue? I guess I am just so used to the regular noodles!
YVR-Terri 10 Posted June 4, 2010 I actually prefer the whole wheat spaghetti, but I made the switch a few years ago so have had lots of time to get used to it. But, maybe try spaghettini (slightly thinner) or other whole wheat pasta noodle shapes instead, if you're having a hard time with spaghetti specifically. Â Also - whole wheat spaghettini is great in cold noodle salads instead of those high point chinese noodles or ramen noodles. kat0303 10 Posted June 9, 2010 I had trouble getting used to the whole wheat noodles too at first, but got used to it after a little while. Now I don't even notice a difference. candlegranny 0 Posted June 13, 2010 You could eat 1/2 ww and 1/2 regular spagetti till you develope a taste for the ww alone. This is what I did years ago and now regular pasta taste lifeless to me. I love the whole wheat and so does the family. I can do this with the strength Christ gives me!! S/W 223.4 / WW G/W 150 reached on 12/23/03 Working my way back to goal !! Patflat71 10 Posted January 11, 2011 Dang - I had spag the other night and didn't specify it was whole weat. My eTool gave me 5 pts but in reality it was 4 pts. Oh well. On the other hand, I had an impossible time finding points for spaghetti sauce on the eTool. I was able to figure that 1/2 cup of bottled sauce was 3 pts (any type it says), but we always add tons of veggies and some lean ground beef so I don't really know how many points that comes up to. I suppose I should enter the ingredients in the recipe builder... ----------------------------------------------------- Pat Choose your objective Create a plan of attack Execute the plan
lyfer98 0 Posted January 12, 2011 I switched to WW pasta years ago too and I find that adding kosher salt to the water gives the pasta a nice taste. sjerseysetter 10 Posted January 12, 2011 Try different brands, as there is a big taste difference in various WW pastas. Even DH likes Trader Joes WW rotini.
