What is illegal to post?

Hello all. I have a question.

Is there anything that you cannot post on these message boards? I know all the common sense goodies...in the daily threads of your home group or in the recipe/food section, are you allowed to post points values or recipes from say, WW cookbooks or the website?

I ask because before I found this amazing support site, I tried the WW message boards that were associated with the online program. I got reemed on there for mentioning a points value. I don't want to post anything I am not supposed to here.

Thanks for your help in answering this question.

Summer~*

I'm not a moderator - just someone who has enjoyed this bb for a few years. In general, either we're a pretty friendly group or the moderators do a really good job of moderating! I've never seen anyone get bent out of shape for posting recipes or points here. Something some people do is, if they're going to describe a food or eating experience that might cause someone to be tempted to go off program, they post a ****FOOD PORN WARNING**** before they post it, so sensitive souls will stop reading right there. I think if you don't play nice or if you insult other users, the moderators would have a problem with that and do some serious moderating. ;)

Welcome Summer. You can certainly post the points value of a recipe. We just encourage everyone to use common sense and check the points values yourself just in case.

Some things we don't allow are spammers, discussions on politics, religion, diet pills or any other "diet" per the BCB Philosophy

I know it can get pretty ugly on some other boards. I hope you'll find it more welcoming here.

:welcome:

In defense of the WWer boards, depending on which one you posted the POINTS values on, you may just have gotten a gentle reminder not to post them, or you could have gotten a pretty sarcastic reminder. The reason you might have gotten jumped on is, there is a set of ground rules that everyone who registers for the WWer site supposedly reads, and then agrees to, when they join. One of those rules is no posting of points. I'll be honest and say I didn't read all the ground rules when I first joined that site. The warning usually comes because posts can, and will, be pulled by Customer Service if there are points. The reasoning given for not posting points is that it is a trademark of WWers. Also, WWer members have the tools available to find, and calculate points themselves. Also, I've seen some really, really wrong point values posted both on this website and on the WWer website. Personally I'd much rather find and validate the information myself. :bcb_smile Again, this is just an explanation of why you were warned about posting points over there. But, the way in which you were warned should have be friendly, and may not have been. I post on both sites and have found great people in both places.
