What One Thing have I done today to advance my cause?

Recommended Posts

I want to say that I did walk our dog, no showshoes and 1 wet boot but I did it! It felt warm by late afternoon 32. The day started at 2. Today was spinning class 60 minutes, tough.

GFY Penny:bcb_up running is hard. I tried last summer run/jog but my knees, heals hurt after

I snuck in a walk yesterday between meetings. I do not like to walk in the sun, Sorry folks LA is 80 degrees this week, but I did anyway and did fine. Needed a shower before going back to work but that took seconds. Today is a busy day but there is an exercise ball where I am working and I can bounce during my not busy times.

Fuji apples are my favorite! And today I jogged a mile......granted it was a slow mile, but I didn't stop! Then I walked another mile to top it all off.

I came back to BCB after several years away. I went to Jazzercise and then walked my dog for 30 minutes (very slow minutes, even the 4 legged creatures are struggling on the sidewalks lately.) Ate a LOT of not-so-great stuff as PMS and marital fight were bugging me, but I had the WP to use so I was still on plan. Forgave myself for eating my WPs. That's what they are for!

Peg, GFY. LB, I wanted to high five your efforts too. I went to another meeting today and did a toning workout knowing I'm going x-country skiing later. Want carby things but will not succumb besides, I already had oatmeal.

Today I did my usual walk but did it in the other direction. It fools my body and gives me a great workout since it is almost all a gradual hill the entire 3 miles. Yay me.

And Yay to all of us who are keeping this thread alive by recognizing what we do for ourselves every day.

OK so I did my workouts and walked the dog but the really good thing I did to advance my cause? My mom gave my choclates to give out to my gkids NEXT WEEKEND and that wasn't going to happen. I just can't have that in the house. I ate 3 pcs yesterday. This morning I thought about having one and working it off throughout the day. I opened up all of them and threw them away and topped them with pine-sol just bc I've been known to do stupid things. Now my kitchen smells clean and no more temptations

I added "crunches" to my routine today. I was never good at "sit-ups" when I was in Junior High and we had the Presidential Fitness awards - great at sports but I have/had no flexibility or the ability to do most of those things at that time. I had forgotten that I used to do sit-ups, while not every day, fairly regularly, and since the exercise bike doesn't even tire me out, and I've been having weird leg reactions lately, I wanted to do something different and/or more.

Did 10, then grabbed a heavy book and did 10 more.

I walked this morning and am going to walk again tonight. All good for me.

I realized something yesterday. I heard a leader asking a member "are you hungry?"

I thought about it and realized I have not felt hunger in a long time. While I was losing my stomach would growl but I knew I had had enough to eat so I ignored it. Or just be hungry before meal times.

Lately my portions have gotten a bit out of control and my snacking also. I decided I am going to feel HUNGRY again. I know exactly how to do that without starving myself. Just follow the program. Life time or not.

So here I go. I finished dinner and am done eating for the night except for water.

I'll report how it's going. I know my weight is creeping up little by little. It's probably not more than 3 lbs above goal but I cannot let this happen.

Today, I ran 13.25 miles. Longest run ever. I am not letting that long run give me freedom to eat what I want. I WILL be OP and eat healthy!

:bcb_upOh wow Trudy excellent job. IKWYM about "give me freedom to eat what I want". I feel like that when I do an exceptional workout and then defeating the purpose.

Peg, I went to superbowl little party last night and took my diet root beer, gingerbread tea and lentil chili. NO snacks at all but what I took and it was difficult but I did not wither up and die.

Deborah, great job pushing yourself and then doing that more xtra:bcb_bravo

Thanks, Cheryl!

My WW local friend last week related this story to me, which I forced her to share at the meeting by starting it myself :: grin :: She's being walking, and wasn't in the mood, wanted a Big Mac desperately! She started the walk anyway, swearing she'd only do 15 minutes and then go to McDonald's. At 15 minutes she said, "Okay, I'll do a bit more, "and of course she ended up doing her entire 30 minutes. The capper? By the time she was done she said, "I am NOT going to waste that walk" and she made herself some food at home.

As for the pushing - I just whined over in Delta that it makes no sense that my 12 crunches are the same AP as my rather vigorous 30 minutes of moderate stationary bike. Ah well.

Hey, I just thought of something funny while teasing myself for being so anal about the numbers, "I can make myself crazy or I can make myself thin."

Great job all of us really. Today I let myself get hungry and did not eat a big meal but a normal OP one. Good for me. I also walked 2 miles.

I'm eating normally even though the scale was mean to me this morning. I've not strayed off plan, and I have faith in the plan. Not going to let myself go nuts.

ah hem Mz. Deborah good choice on the food.

Peg I wish I would've stopped when almost full tonight. I'm alittle more than that but I did stay out of the office snacky drawer today. I also took my spin class today and mostly stayed strong the whole time.

Not hungry yet but eating very well. Hungry takes a while to develop in one never used to being hungry, always filling that hole with something. Will walk tomorrow. 3 meetings today kept me running.

What have I done? Nothing. I did walk but I made some of that Core banana baked oatmeal and ate too much of it. If my scale is correct I am 5 lbs above goal now. This cannot be. So I have to up my exercise if I plan on eating like this. I am eating well and really not too much but couple well with lowered exercise and you get weight gain. I am working today and then out but starting tonight or tomorrow I am back on the stationary bike at least three days a week.

Stay strong Peggy this too shall pass with some work and planning.
