Springtime Challenge 2011 anyone?

Recommended Posts

Thanks all for the positive comments. I'm doing my best to maintain amid what this weekend were some serious cravings. I didn't give in, however.

To reiterate what some folks have said, any loss is just that, a loss. Be proud of it and use it to maintain your momentum. Conversely, any gain is a gain. Own it, and use it to continue to strive. Two steps forward, one step back is still one step forward. Sticking to the path is the important thing as that'll set you up for long term success, and that's what we all want, right? :) Keep up the good work everyone!

Dang, Linda! I know how frustrating that can be. But remember you're doing the right things and the weight will eventually come off. Probably not in the time frame that you want, but it will! You've already lost so much weight and come so far. This is really just tiny blip in your journey. Thinking good thoughts for you!

Glad to see it working for everyone. Tomorrow's the big weigh-in day of the week. Looking forward to it. Clothes are fitting loosely and my size 32s are workable now which they haven't been for a long time.

Hey everyone well it's Saturday morning and for me that means weigh-in time! I had a good weigh-in this time, down 1.2 lbs from last weekend, so I'm back on track. I've got a new travel coming up on 08 May that wasn't planned so that'll prove an additional challenge for me. It does suck though as I'll be on travel for my [31st] birthday (keep in mind that my mid-challenge goal is to be 180 lbs or less for my 07 May weigh-in). I hope everyone else's weigh-ins and weeks have gone as well as mine, and that we can all successfully keep striving towards our individual goals!

Starting challenge weight: 191.6 lbs - 12 MAR

13 March: 190.4 lbs - 19 MAR - -1.2 lbs

20 March: 188.8 lbs - 26 MAR - -1.6 lbs (-2.8 lbs total)

27 March: 184.2 lbs - 02 APR - -4.6 lbs (-7.4 lbs total)

03 April: 184.6 lbs - 09 APR - +0.4 lbs (-7.0 lbs total)

10 April: 183.4 lbs - 16 APR - -1.2 lbs (-8.2 lbs total)

This literally has been my hardest week since I started in January. It's finals week and I have been stuck in the computer lab straight from working for 8 hours. It's calming down, so this week I'm getting back to the gym and and tracking.

phobo: Awesome job this week!

Tonya: this was an awesome loss. It's one pound closer to your goal!

anaem - I know the challenge of losing weight, working and going to school so I definitely understand where you're coming from. Keep the faith, you can make it through any challenge that's presented to you. :)

Up 1lb this week. I'm always up or maintain this week and next in my cycle. Nothing I can do about it. It is what it is. I'll have a couple of good losses in a couple of weeks to make up for it! Not going to change my sig though as I had a great OP week so I don't feel like I deserve the gain or should have to claim it!!

Some good-looking results for this week--let's all stay positive and focused! For those who struggled, remember that last week is past and this is a NEW week. Get back on track and don't let a bad day or two or three...or seven derail you from your ultimate goal! We can do it!

Here is my progress for the week--I am still not happy, but life goes on. I'm hoping for a better result this week. I'm going to go heavy on the proteins for breakfasts and see if that helps at all.

So...How is this week treating everyone?

Yesterday's workout was really awful for me as I was battling a massive headache at the time. I thought my head was going to pop off my shoulders at any moment, but I pushed through. This morning I woke up to a bloody nose and that's always fun. I've been having major allergy problems the past two weeks or so and I guess everything was just dry enough this morning that that happened. Hate that. Think I need to switch allergy meds again. I had been using generic claritin for the longest time but last year found it didn't help me very much when we got our Beagle, so I switched to generic zyrtec. Maybe I'll give Allegra a try now that it's OTC...My girlfriend swears by the stuff.

Greetings! Had my WI today and was very, very happy to be in the next decade of numbers! Put on some pants today that I haven't worn for a long time and they fit! Love that feeling.

Great job Jen! I had the same experience with clothes last weekend - I put on a pair of shorts and a shirt that I hadn't worn in about a year and a half and they fit great. Super good!

Thanks, Matt. You're rockin it too! I so admire you for being able to lose weight with as much traveling as you seem to do. That's awesome dedication. Don't you love shopping in your closet for the "clothes of sizes past"? It always makes me happy to get to wear "new" clothes without spending $$$. :bcb_up Ha!

Linda – Happy for your loss, but even happier for your positive attitude! Thanks for the great words of encouragement.

Angel – Great job getting back on track. This journey isn't about being perfect all the time, it's about learning how to be healthy and still live life. I know that the pressures of school can be a challenge but sounds like you have a plan to get back on course. Good for you!

Hello to Montana Man – Pretty impressive stats on maintaining that weight! Nice job.

Well as I mentioned in my daily post in the "Men on WW" forum, I have a motorcycle class all day tomorrow so I'm not sure I'll be able to WI on my normal day. Here is my progress for the week--:bcb_happy I'm thrilled with my results, but I am not going to rejoice until I see it hold through to my official WI on Wednesday. Too often, I dip down (this is my lowest ever) for a day, then I'm back up. I'll believe this number when I see it a few days in a row (yes, I'm a daily weigh-er, but only a weekly recorder).

Matt - very nice progress!

Linda - Very happy that the scale is being nice to you. :bcb_bravo

I weigh in on Weds so I'll check back with you all then. I just can't bring myself to weigh myself on my own with my own scale. I can only handle thinking about the scale once a week. :bcb_grin

Thanks Cheryl! There's no reason why you can't join in now! You can just go back to the beginning of spring, total up your losses thus far and let us know what your total goal is!! :bcb_up

I usually shy away from challenges because I never make them, even when I think I'm choosing a reachable goal! I'll see how it goes this time and then probably re-enlist for a summer and fall challenge as well. It's going to take me until the beginning of winter (at the earliest) to get to my PGW (though I should hit WWGW in the fall!)

Jen & Matt- You guys are kicking my butt!! I'm coming off the two weeks of the month when I generally don't lose any weight so perhaps I'll catch up to you in the next couple of weeks (only to fall behind two weeks from now when I hit my two week maintenance slump!). I hope that the challenge ends on my good weight loss weeks and not on the bad ones! LOL

Linda- Good for you to hang in there!! I hope you have an even better number come Wednesday. You're SO CLOSE to GW!!

Angel- How did things go this week?
