Summer challenge anyone??

Recommended Posts

I had a wonderful time visiting my family and bringing Mom back with me for a few days. But it also meant that I was not eating the way I needed to in order to have a successful week. In fact, this week was not good at all... but I'm going to admit my downfall and power on after this 3 1/2 pound gain.

Sorry, I've been MIA between my house and my parent's cottage. It's been too hot to cook/too hot to do anything but lay in the AC or go down the lake. This also means that my eating has been horrible, because it's been too hot to eat and when it's finally cooled down i'm ravenous. Thank goodness the heat has subsided for now, and I am going to just cook excess things this week and freeze them for when this happens again.

I W/I a day early this week so that I could go down to the cottage earlier than the weekend. So, it was from Tuesday.

Well, ladies, we're half-way through the summer. Let's REALLY get down to work this week so that next week we're smiling! Shelley, you did very well to lose this week considering you were on holidays! Way to go:) Anaem3 and Cheryl, we MUST NOT allow ourselves get discouraged and let up... our mantra needs to be, "onwards and downwards!" My WI this morning threatened my contentment, as I have been spending a LOT of time walking, cycling, and hiking hills (or stairs), and I expected to see a significant change. I'm really starting to wonder if I need to adjust my points (I'm at 29, which is supposed to be the lowest on the Points+ program).

Have a great week, challengers!

Linda, I hear you loud and clear:salut. Funny you mentioned the pts. I have been on ww website and there are several posts about ppl adjusting the daily from 29 to say 26 to resume losses. I am going to do this also. I was going to talk about it after a week or 2 and see if theres a change at the scale.

one of the guys on bcb does this but at the moment I forget who? I think its SB

I remember some of the discussion back when the program changed. I think you're right that it was SB who really struggled. I'm going to aim for 25 for a while and see how it feels (i.e. am I too hungry?). I'll probably eat AP, but not the WPA, as that will give me room for possibly miscalculating the points. I was always a little suspicious that the number of points was a bit high for me. In the old Momentum plan, we lost a point every time we lost 10 pounds. With the P+ program, I'm at the lowest number of points (29). I played with the calculator, and I would have to be 50 lbs. more before the points go up. I guess I'll know in a week if the adjustment is working:)

I went to WI tonight, I knew it would be good and I wanted it recorded. I tracked faithfully online, took away 3 pts., switched to using my AP's first, then the weekly 49, more veggies.6/14: 160

That's a cute new avatar, Cheryl... WTG on the WI today! You're on a roll... looks like the changes and diligence are paying off.

I'm not happy again this week with my WI... I'm getting a little tired of the same old story. Here I thought that summer was going to be a breeze for losing that last bit of weight, but it has turned out to be the opposite. I'm now beginning to realize that I burn more calories at work than I realized... running from my portable to the main building, standing on my feet all day. I'm not going to give up... here's to a GOOD week.

Um, I need to get my buttox in gear! I'm signing up for 2 5k's, One to kick off my birthday weekend (september 18th) and one around halloween where we get to dress up! I've "ran" (walk/run) 4 so far since march (the first 4 i've EVER done) and I want to actually run these next few. Hopefully the training will be a good change.

Shelley, hang in there, girl...that blip upwards will probably come off quickly if you're diligent this week. I have found that if I have a significant gain, it is easy to reverse; sadly, it works the other way, too... a significant loss, is often followed by a gain. Get that buttox moving:bcb_grin... great goal to RUN the 5ks you have signed up for!

Cheryl, you're right, quitting isn't an option! I have watched several people at work who lost quickly (they were not on WW) then packed it back on in just a few months. I should be happy that I'm still within reach of my WWGW... but I really DO want to get to my PGW... sooner rather than later.

Shelley... I hadn't noticed the date on your last report in... my comments this morning were a week late... but see, I was right... you had a great WI this week after your blip upwards last week. GREAT JOB this week! Keep it up:)

Lol, no worries. I actually updated it only a few hours after you posted. it took a LOT of hard work, and I had the traveling 3 month journal for my meeting last week so I think that helped too. It was basically going back to basics for me, tracking and measuring. And I actually exercised (because it's part of my new part time job as a swim lesson instructor, I do it for 3 hours at a shot, light intensity 2-3 times a week and gain 5AP's each time!). But it paid off!

Cheryl, I was tempted to take off the summer, too, because it has just been so hard. But like you, I figured that it's bad enough already... if I took the summer pff, it would be out of control by Labour Day! Hang in there, keep working on it, and eventually it will come off. Our only hope is to keep at it...I don't know how much you have lost, but I don't want to have to lose the same pounds over and over! It's bad enough being stuck and gaining and losing 5 pounds over and over... I couldn't bear to have to lose 50 pounds again!

You're right. I lost 35 btw. I would be beside myself if I regained it all. I'm 10 from goal again. I think I should at least fake it until mojo comes back. So glad clothes still fit but belly is big.

Skipped my meeting today. I was really sick and almost ended up in the ER. Had a burst ovarian cyst but they spent all day ruling out my appendix. So, there's swelling, and excessive fluid and i KNOW that i'll gain this week. Gonna try to go tomorrow!
