This looks fantastic!! Every once and a while I get a craving for a twinkie, so this might just fit the bill!!

I just made this dessert for a Football Party. I doubled the pudding and added a couple of more bananas, plus a little more Cool Whip. (I choose to have plain fruit for my dessert and all the "eaters" are skinny men and teenaged boys)

OMG - it is a showstopper and must weigh 80 pounds I also dusted the top with Cocoa.

DH is dying to stick his finger in it or "test" it but I am making him wait until after dinner.

Thank you so much for sharing this and I will make it OP for my lady friends at bridge next week. THIS IS A REAL KEEPER! :D

this sounds wonderful, but I think I will give it a try, and replace the twinkies with a sugarfree angelfood cake that I found at superwalmart (1 point for 2 oz!) should lower the points dramatically!

Thanks!

I'd like to try the lower point version too. Can you post the point values for substituting in the angel food cake for the twinkies? Thanks smile.gif

I think that I too will make it with the Angel Food, next time...the twinkies were a real shock to my "no sweets in a long time" OP system. :D

I made this and brought to work for our Halloween party and it was a huge hit! Using angel food cake is a great idea and I think I'll try that too. That really should lower the points. I was thinking this morning that it was be very pretty as a trifle.

BTW, I used the Banana Cream pudding. Super Delicious!!

Hi everybody, I'm glad they liked the Twinkie banana pudding pie. It really is a delicious dessert but with everybody looking to try the angel food cake, I thought I would post this one also.

Yum Yum Cake

In a 9x13 pan

Break up a sugar free angel food cake (you can find these at Walmart in the bakery)

Layer in order

1 20 oz can crushed pineapple in own juice

2 small reduced sugar free vanilla instant pudding mix (mix according to directions)

2 bananas

small carton fat free cool whip

8 servings - 2 points.

Warning: the bananas start to turn after the first couple of days, but around my house it usually doesn't last much longer than that. I also substitute strawberries for the bananas when they are in season. :D

I made my own individual serving (I live alone and need small servings besides whole cakes)

4 POINTS

1/16 of angelfood cake, regular - 1.5

1/4 cup of banana cream pudding mixed with 2% milk - 1.5

1/2 banana sliced - 1

Put cake on plate. Pour on pudding and sprinkle with the banana. It was delicious. Thanks for the idea!

This sounds wonderful with the angel food cake. I have a real problem with Twinkies, because of all the fat jokes that contain them. Just a mental thing for me.
