Diet Coke Brownies

Recommended Posts

I know the Diet Coke cake is "old news" for many of us, but with so many new Buddies coming on board this month, I thought I might repeat this, with my variations.

1 box Betty Crocker Devils Food cake mix

10 ounces of Diet Coke

Mix together, adding more or less Diet Coke to get a nice batter.

Spray a 9X13" (or larger) baking pan with non-stick spray, and lightly flour.

Bake at 350 degrees until it springs back in the center when touched.

Cool and cut into 24 pieces, 2 points each.

I had it hot with 1/2 cup of FF, NAS ice cream, for a luscious 3 point treat!

Be sure to check the points for your cake mix, from the nutrition label on the box.

Does anyone know if the Diet Coke cake works the same way with regular brownie mix? I've tried the No Pudge brownies and thought they were too rich (didn't know there was such a thing).

Thanks!

Buddies, just so you know, you can try this with other combos. I have heard people do the devils food with Dr. Pepper or Root Beer (diet of course)

I tried making a lemon cake with mountain dew. It was great. Some people make spice with orange. Its all quite good and the soda makes it nice and tangy.

I give it thumbup.gif

These Diet Coke Brownies are 3-4 Points per slice when cut into 12 slices!!!! Do NOT count them as 2 Points!! Check your cake mix boxes and do the math yourself!!!

I owe you guys an apology  - I mistyped the number of servings when I originally posted this recipe - cut into 24 pieces it comes to 2 points per brownie. I am very sorry to have misled anyone. It is ALWAYS a good idea to run any recipe through the recipe builder, or other tool, to check the points for yourself. I hope no one was hurt by this. Thanks for all your kindness, and to Dawn for pointing out the discrepancy!!

These sound great. Out of curiosity, what is "NAS" ice cream?

Thanks!

Cheree,

"NAS" stands for No Added Sugar. So, Fat Free and NAS = low points :D
