New Forum Styles to Choose From!

Recommended Posts

Hey Buddies!

We have a completely NEW forum style we'll be launching soon, in addition to fixing up this one.

In the mean time, I've made two more templates available NOW that will let you revert our current forum styling.

You can go back to the VB4 Default styling, or If you really want to go back in time, I added a mimic of the VB3 Default styling.

You can change style templates from the selector at the bottom of the forum pages.

Enjoy!

No worries! They have returned. :salut

Someday soon, maybe they will be better. We were tinkering a bit. :bcb_smile

Trudie,

I did some more tinkering..... Does the "Recent Posts" under the Forums tab, suit the job? That is our "Activity Steam", a long forgotten feature.

I am going to be running a test today on a new template.

It's being built from scratch, so... Just let me know if things are not right.:bcb_wink3

Don't forget - you can choose different styles with the selector at bottom of page.

Thanks!

I just had to tone the orange down bit. We are going for brighter and more energy, but it was hurting my eyes :D

Yes, that seems to work. Thanks.

With the speech 'bubbles' - I noticed when editing short posts, it was only making the editor the size of the small post... not intended.

I had to make them go full width again, and also flattened them a bit while I as there.

Jason, thanks for brightening things up a little. I like the purple more than I like the orange but truthfully, in a few days, we'll all be used to what ever you choose to do.

Believe me, you are appreciated.

i like the orange - but I've always liked anything that hinted at fall (warm) colors. Also like size of type. Seems cleaner to me - so I'm happy.

I like the brightness, but don't care for the orange, hurts my eyes a little, maybe a turquoise would still brighten, but would be softer on the eyes, and will blend with the purple, just my opinion, everything else is great, thanks everyone for making the style and fonts better too

I was actually thinking of going a little more purple also - it looks nice.(It also looks nice with a light green)

I am going to release an 'inverted' version of this forum later on. Switching some of the orange and purple around to see how you all like it. It's still 'bright' but it tones it down a bit.

What I'll do eventually, is make this template available in various color schemes. Possibly even with a color picker, which should be possible.

As long as everyone's happy with the larger type, buttons, and other changes we make to navigation and forum layout - I'm happy with it too.:bcb_smile

Although one of the things I dislike about the navigation options, is actually the lack of it, at the bottom of pages. I tried putting the 'breadcrumbs' that are located at the top of the pages there, but our forum software is not being friendly with me. Maybe we'll see that soon.

Do you have recommendations of things to add that might make getting around the site easier?

Funny story for me about the color purple.

It brings back memories of when I was a little boy - and my mother would take me shopping with her. There was a department store in the mall, with purple walls. She would shop that store, for what felt like hours. I would cry, and cry, and beg to leave the 'purple store'. I've hated purple ever since.

Now here we are.... my mothers forums... purple... :derp

Maybe! I've got some other things up my sleeve for her too.

I am writing an "About Us" for Health Discovery. Like how the website got started and what not. Which is basically "About Her" to start with. So I'm going to sit down and have a long talk with her about BCB. I'll be sure to drop some subtle hints about posting... even if I have to log her in on my laptop and put it in front of her :)

I can't wait to read it when it's done Jason! I'm FB friends with her so I get to keep up with her that way.:bcb_wink3

Thanks for all you do! You know, you could make this Packer colors. :bcb_grin

Well don't get too excited for it! I am not much of a writer lol

My lowest test scores were always in writing...

I do plan to post it here, first.

I'd also like to to add some things from other Buddies who have helped build this site over the years. It's all hear-say from me, so I'd like to add input from those who have been here along the way.

Packers colors have been added into the drawing board!

I'll also probably tone down the purple a smidgen on this one when I get a chance - just a couple shades darker.
