Pepper Steak Stew

Recommended Posts

I made this yesterday, and everyone flipped out over it. I did not have it myself, as I don't care much for red meat.

One cup of this is 4=points. I served it over 2=P buns, so if I did have it, it would be 6 points.

My family has already asked when we can have this again. You could have heard a pin drop in the dining room when they were eating...a true test of how good the meal is.

Enjoy!

I can't wait to try this with deer meat we have

cut up in pieces. My DH hunts so we eat deer instead of beef all year. 1 pt per ounce I have been told.

I do something similar to this with 98% fat free mushroom soup instead of heinz gravy. I have some of this gravy on hand though.

Thanks a bunch.

I'm making this over the weekend. I have the Joanna Lund book "Potful of Recipes", but must have missed that one.

DH has been asking if we'll ever have beef again, so this is a great opportunity..... Don't know if I'll have it, but at least he'll be happy :D and it's low points if I do decide to try it.

We had the Pepper Steak Stew tonight and it was very good. I'm not a lover of red meat, but it was very tasty and the meat very tender. I used red peppers instead of green ones.

Glad you liked it. I do love Joanna Lund's cookbooks. I have quite a few of them.

I also am not a lover of red meat, and believe it or not, I have never even tasted this recipe. I judged it's success by the dead silence, except for the loud lip smacking, during the meal. Always the signs of a really good dish. Plus they started asking me to make it again right away.

later..

Dawna,

I love Joanna Lund books too and have quite a few myself. I just went to a huge used book sale and found a few I didn't have. They must be the ones that were for sale on QVC because the covers are different from all the others I have.

What else have you tried from any of her books bcbsalute.gif
