  1. Hi Paris. The following is the recipe for French Silk Pie. Any help in lowering points would be appreciated. French Silk Pie Graham Cracker Crust 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate 2 tbsp. brandy 2 tbsp. dry instant coffee 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup ground almonds 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts In a double boiler, melt the chocolate. Stir in the brandy and the instant coffee. Using an electric mixer, cream butter & sugar together in a large mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Beat in the chocolate mixture and finally the nuts. Pour mixture into pie shell. Chill. Serve cold in THIN slices. Makes 8 servings. I have never tried it, but it could be made in a square pan and smaller pieces could be cut.
  2. I have a recipe for "French Silk Pie" which calls for 1 cup of butter. The pie is chilled in the refrigerator. Can I use applesauce in the place of the butter and still have the chocolate mixture set. I have used the applesauce in cakes and muffins but they are cooked in the oven where this pie is cooked on the stove and then chilled in the refrigerator. 4. Does anyone have or can they direct me to a recipe for Applesauce Spice Cake?
  5. Hi Master Sergeant. Thanks for the tip, but I did try them and they only deliver to US destinations.
  6. Hi Susan: I have tried Amazon both in Canada and in the States. Canada does not carry it. I tried ordering it on Amazon.com and was told it did not deliver to this area. I have since found out that some companies are boycotting us and will not even send their products to the Businesses. I will try E-Bay. Thanks Gloria
  7. Can someone tell me if Mastercook is available in Canada. I have tried the local Costco, Walmart and Future Shop. Even though the Future Shop shows it in its listing the local store has never and appears never will be carrying it. Any and all help will be appreciated.
  8. Thanks Frisky. That helps alot.
  9. Can someone help me with the ratio for using applesauce in the place of oil when baking. It would be much appreciated.
  10. Made this bread today. It was delicious even though it was very small. I am certainly going to make it again and I am going to try Jean's method and also make two loaves at a time. Thanks for the good recipes. Gloria
  11. Made this recipe today. It was wonderful!!! My Husband wants more CP recipes. I just need help with a couple of points. Half Fat Cr. of Mushroom Soup appears to have more points in Canada - why - does anyone know?? Also HOW do you get 2 oz pork chops. When mine were cooked they weighed 5 and 6 oz. This sure changed the points per serving. Can someone out there help with this. Thanks Gloria Thinwomen [ September 22, 2003, 07:10 AM: Message edited by: thinwomen ]
