What One Thing have I done today to advance my cause?

Eating my OP lunch. Passed on snickerdoodles yesterday, ate a crumb this morning just for a taste, left the last whole cookie for someone else. -

Amazing. Depressing yet it explains a lot. I want to beat the odds, like this woman. She has also come to accept that she can never stop being “hypervigilant” about what she eats. “Everything has to change,” she says. “I’ve been up and down the scale so many times, always thinking I can go back to ‘normal,’ but I had to establish a new normal.

My personal opinion, please don't blast me, is that the pickles (sodium) aren't as bad for you as the weight is. I like my salt a little (okay a lot) too much. But I know that being 210 pounds overweight was killing me. I'll work on my salt issue (and eating more & more healthy in all areas), but getting the weight off is most important. My eating overall has changed drastically in the last couple of years, one step at a time.

Seems kinda ridiculous to have put that much effort into a site only to supply calories, not full nutritional values.

What an inspiration, Trudie, Happy Anniversary! Stories like yours really give me something to look forward to. And it reinforces what I already know, that it's a lifetime change. It's not a diet that ends when you get to goal. Congrats!!! -

Vita-Mix Cold Compost (aka Dinosaur Vomit)
DandyWeyr replied to WWCarol's topic in Programs and Plans
Carol, what a great idea. I've been trying to figure out where to put a traditional composting station in our yard where it gets enough sun, enough shade, & doesn't interfere with the sprinkler system or garden. I'll try this route instead. I hope it will work with a regular blender, though, since I don't have a vita-mix.- 6 replies

I can feel it... this is my final recommit!
DandyWeyr replied to DaniMarie's topic in Boot Camp Beginners
Welcome back, Dani! Great job on navigating life & staying OP in spite of all the hurdles that you have had to make it through. Once long, long ago, when I was about your age I had "that feeling" that you have now, & I lost a lot of weight. My mistake was not making the lifestyle change permanent. Now, here I am much older and "that feeling" is back (after many of those failed attempts) again. It's a great feeling, isn't it? Hang on to that feeling for dear life, and don't make the same mistake I did when you've gotten to goal. Make it permanent! You want it enough, you'll do it! -
I'll have to go shopping for new clothes, and we all hate clothes shopping, right? Not to mention the fact that I'll have to clean out the closet to make room for all the new clothes! If I lose weight I might not be able to use "I don't feel good" as an excuse not to do housework. If I lose too much weight the decision on what new car to buy will be wide open, there will just be too many to choose from since I will be able to fit in them all. I'll actually have to walk through Wal-mart instead of getting to ride one of those nifty motorized carts.

1 & 4 pts are correct for points (not points plus) and yes, it's due to the fiber cap in the calculation. I use Bush's black beans & they actually calculate to 1.4 & 3.7 pts.

Deborah, just a heads up that if you drop monthly pass & go to just online, it will still be etools. There is no way online to change back to 'online' instead of 'etools'. You'll have to call them to change. I decided to leave my account as etools because it's a bit cheaper than online only. Granted, I don't have the same materials available, but I don't really need them, and I rarely bought product online.
