  3. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE! Busy day--both boys came in yesterday and DD arrives tonight at 10 PM. Just found out at 2 PM that I will be cooking dinner tomorrow--was going to BIL's, but he called to say his little girl and MIL have the flu, so we certainly don't want to be there! I feel kind of sorry for him, but neither grandma needs the flu at 85 y.o. So I rushed to the store and bought a turkey breast since there are only 7 of us and we will have a small feast. Tomorrow will be a busy day, though I wasn't planning on it. Lynn our regular grocery (huge) was out of pumpkin. A friend told me at the end of September that there might be a shortage of pumpkin this year due to weather. Hope that doesn't affect your shopping!

  5. A week of SiFi with less than stellar record on the weekend--no candy, just out to eat and I lost 2.4 lbs. Here's to SiFi! More success this week.
  6. Well, I lost 2.4 lbs despite a less than stellar weekend. Woo-hoo!! Starting week with 35 WPA. B - shredded wheat, milk, coffee L - Mexican brown rice casserole, red pepper strips S - beef roast D - beef barley soup, whole wheat-oat bread (3), milk WPA = 32
  7. B - oatmeal, pear, dollop Greek yogurt, latte L - bulgur salad w/ tuna, veggies and lentils, olive oil, cran-apple oat pudding S - Tea with FF Vanilla coffee mate (1) D - Mexican Brown rice Casserole (1), skim milk WPA = 26 left

B - latte, banana L - leftover bulgur salad w/tuna & lentils, apple S - inside out eggroll w/meatballs, cran-apple oat pudding, dollop of Greek yogurt D - meatloaf, 1/2 baked potato, dollop of Greek yogurt, broccoli, small glass red wine (1) Used 5 WPA last night; for some reason can't edit yesterday's post. That leaves 29 WPA for rest of the week. 8 PM--28 WPA left for the week.
  9. Ah--my mistake was not covering it in the oven. Well it is pretty darn good and I just mixed in the crunchy part afterward. Next time I'll know!

  12. Well Mickie, I made it up! I cooked about 1 cup lentils in 5 cups water (per the bag instructions) until tender. [That is too much! If you decide to make something like this, cook no more than 1/2 cup dried lentils.] Cooked a cup of bulgur wheat in 2 cups chicken broth seasoned with about 1/2 tsp thyme, 1 tsp dried basil, some garlic powder and about 1/2 tsp dried parsley till it was almost evaporated fully. Meanwhile I cut up a yellow pepper and some baby carrots into quarter inch dice and threw them into the bowl. Added a small can of tuna in olive oil that I drained well and about 3/4-1 cup of the cooked lentils. Added cooked bulgur, salt and pepper and stirred well. It was pretty good and very filling today at lunch and will likely be lunch the rest of the week. I also make one with black beans and southwest seasonings called Aztec couscous--can use whole wheat couscous, but I like the texture of bulgur better. PM me your email if you can't find it in the recipe section. I'll be using the rest of the lentils in something with Indian flavors laster this week. Maybe soup?
  13. I am. We can stay on target. I really like SiFi (core) foods. B --oatmeal, raspberries, dollop greek yogurt, skim latte L --bulgur salad with tuna, Lentils, carrot, peppers, olive oil S --apple D-- Flank steak, mushrooms, salad with beets, FF blue cheese dressing (1), skim milk S--Crockpot apple-cranberry pudding Lynn's posts convinced me to try this. I baked it in the oven for about 45-60 min because I liked the crunchy topping idea. Will give it a try soon.

  15. Question: My week started yesterday. Target is 24 points. I used 28 points/earned 5 AP. Today I used 21 points/0 AP. E-tools says I have used 4 WPA (from yesterday). Meanwhile, I am trying to eat SiFi foods. If I don't count the points, but add up the WPA for non-SF foods, I have only 17 WPA left. I'm confused. Please clarify for me??
