  1. Thank you! Where is the best place for activity? I'm not always super active but I find it helps me when I am.
  2. I have been going to WW meetings for 6 weeks and have also been using MFP for over a year. MFP was helpful for me at first and I was also going to the gym quite a bit. After a few months, especially after slowing down my workouts, I quit losing and was even gaining. I struggled knowing where my calorie target was supposed to be. So that's when I decided to go back to what I knew would work and that was joining WW. In 6 weeks I lost 10lbs and am feeling good and motivated. I haven't changed my calorie goal at all on MFP, I just use it to track what I eat because it's database is awesome and to help me go back and add to my WW tracker.
  3. I posted this in it's own thread but thought I'd post it here too: Another new recruit! Hi all! I guess I'm a new recruit even though I was a member of this board several years ago. Being on this board and going to WW meetings helped me lose 25lbs about 6 years ago. Over the last 6 years I gained it all back, had a baby and like most retained some of the baby weight as well. I started using MFP about a year ago and going to the gym and managed to lose 25lbs. Then I slowly stopped working out, got lax about my food choices and started gaining again. I struggled knowing what to set my goals for on MFP and finally decided to go back to what I know would work....WW. So a friend at work agreed to join with me and as of last weigh in I am 35lbs down from my highest weight ever and within 8lbs of my lowest weight with WW which is 25lbs from my WW goal weight. I have been back on plan for 6 weeks and have lost 10.2lbs. I feel good and motivated. I am 34 years old so age isn't exactly in my favor and I know now is the time to do things right and strive to live a healthy and active lifestyle for my son and myself. I found good support on the boards in the past am and looking forward to doing so now! I find it helps me to stay immersed in the WW lifestyle and stay focused. So BCB is just another tool to help me stay on track and focused!
  4. When I rejoined WW and learned about the Simple Start plan our leader said to us if we'd done WW in the past the Simple Start plan would be harder for us than newcomers who'd never used WW before. She was right! I couldn't grasp it so I just went right into tracking and counting points. My friend who joined with me had never done WW before so she did Simple Start and loved it. From what I understand (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong) if you're doing Simple Start you just stick with that for a week (or two) and then if you want to count points you do that all week. Basically, you can't change back and forth in the same week. I also understood it to be that anything on the Simple Start food list they give you and/or the Filling Foods list you are allowed to eat, in reasonable portions, without tracking. Anything not on the list or not a Filling Food you would want to track and use the points value from your weekly allowance. So if edamame is on the Simple Start food list (and it is listed as a Filling Food) then you can eat it and not have to track it. But if you were not following Simple Start and tracking and counting points then it does indeed have a points plus value according to my etools app. I hope that helps!
