  1. What I mean by this is how you enjoy regular foods, without turning to fat free, non-fat, aspertame sweetened junk. There are so many different full fat foods that are out there that very satisfying if you watch the overall points value. How you make yummy satisfying meals & snacks without turning to diet (FF, NF & SF) products My examples include: Instead of using blue cheese dressing, I sprinkle 1/8 of a cup of blue cheese on my salad (1.5 pts) and a tbsp of Kraft raspberry vinigarette (1 pt) for a totally dynamic salad that is only 2.5 pts. Another excellent salad topping is my teryaki chicken. For this you take 2 boneless skinless chicken thighs, chopped (6), add 1tbsp of ginger, 2 cloves of garlic & 1/4 c soya sauce (0.5) marinate for 24 hours (or make several packs and throw them in the freezer) Fry in a non stick frying pan and toss them on your favorite salad for an additional 6.5 pts. ***this does not work the same with chicken breast, it turns out very dry*** 1 c of 1% cottage cheese, stir in a sprinkle of Cavender's greek seasoning, add one chopped tomato for a snack of only 3 pts. Caesar Salad: 1/2 oz of shredded fresh parmesan cheeze, 3 c. Romaine lettuce, 1 tbsp Hormel Bacon Bits, 1tbsp Litehouse caesar salad dressing, a dash of lemon juice, fresh ground pepper and a clove of minced garlic makes an amazing 4.5 pt caesar salad. (top with my teryaki chicken recipe above for an even tastier salad) All my pt values have been calculated using the WW online points tracker. Renee

    Diet Pop/Soda

Aspertame stimulates the appetite and causes havoc on your digestive system. Read more about this here http://www.rense.com/general3/asper.htm I was at the PNE (summer fair) this summer and I bought one of those refillable drinks and drank diet coke all day. Later than night, I was so sick, all symptoms pointed to astertame poisoning (especially since I wasn't drinking any water that day to flush it out of my system.) Since then I have dramatically reduced the amount of asptertame I consume. As an alternative, try club soda mixed with juice.

    barley

I found that if I want things like barley, wheat germ, whole grain flour, and other healthy fare, I have to go to a health food store or the vegetable stand by my house. Large chain grocery stores are only interested in selling large quantities of popular food products. If your grocery store has an organic section, I would try looking there.

  5. Try living cookbook. This is the program that I use and I love it. They have online tutorial videos that you can watch as you use the program. I don't know much about Macs but this is what it says about system requirements "Windows 95/98/2000/NT/Me/XP. Living Cookbook will only work on Macintosh computers running VirtualPC." http://www.livingcookbook.com/
  6. I just calculated the calories for the recipe using Living Cookbook and then converted it using the WW points calculator and I got 12 points for the entire recipe.
  7. How many servings does this make? What is the size of each serving?

    Camping

Usually before I leave for camping, I put carrots, cauliflower, cherrie tomatos, nuts and bolts, chips etc. into ziploc bags. That way I don't even have to think about serving sizes while I'm there because everything has been pre measured. Plus I have lots of veggies and fruit to keep me away from higher point chips and other snack food. We also have this device that made out of metal and you sandwich meat between it and cook it on the fire. You could bring chicken breast or steaks instead of hamburgers or hotdogs.
  9. I live in Vancouver and I wanted to try the Davinci syrups as well. So I contacted Davinci and they provided me with the contact info for their nearest distributor which was a coffee house on the east side. I had read so much about these syrups that I was really expecting something spectacular. But I was a little disappointed when I got them. I ordered SF Vanilla and SF Caramel. I found that they were more sweet than flavourful. If you are planning on using them in your coffee or in recipes and you don't need it to be liquid form, I recommend using some splenda and purchasing some Watkins flavour extracts. http://www.watkinsonline.com You can buy them online or they have representatives that will bring them to you. I usually just get mine when I go to the PNE or HomeShow. They always have a booth set up there.
  10. I need to find out the Point Value for 1.5c of dried lentils. I can only find lentils measured by weight (dried) and when they are measured by the cup it is only for cooked. I hope you can help, thanks.
  11. I found that it is easy for me to go to the gym Mon, Tue, Thurs, and Fri. So I try to make sure I go at the same times every week. Just like I go to work Weekdays at 8, I hit the gym M,T,Th&F at 5. It eventually became a habit.
  12. I've had problems with binging in the past. Mechanically eating tons of food I don't need, want or even like. For myself, it wasn't until I brought the issue out of the closet that it stopped. I found that if no one knew I was safe to binge. Try talking to a friend or relative about it, and I'm you will find that their support and understanding will help you through it.
  13. Personally I prefer whole eggs, egg whites are so bland. Besides, most the nutrients are in the yolk. Egg Yolk Nutritional Information The yolk or yellow portion makes up about 33% of the liquid weight of the egg. It contains all of the fat in the egg and a little less than half of the protein. With the exception of riboflavin and niacin, the yolk contains a higher proportion of the egg's vitamins than the white. All of the egg's vitamins A, D and E are in the yolk. Egg yolks are one of the few foods naturally containing vitamin D. The yolk also contains more phosphorus, manganese, iron, iodine, copper, and calcium than the white, and it contains all of the zinc. The yolk of a Large egg contains about 59 calories. It is the yolk which is responsible for the egg's emulsifying properties.
  14. There is another program that I really like. I is called The Living Cookbook. The best part is that you get 25 free uses of the program in the demo. I just used that time to figure out all my favorite recipes (but I will end up buying the program when my demo runs out cause I like it so much.) It has online video tutorials, this program is a breeze to learn. The Living Cookbook
  15. A friend of mine does this to prevent herself from eating her kid's leftovers. Whenever the kids are done with their meals take the salt and pepper shakers and shake as much as you can onto the left over food. That way you aren't even tempted to nibble on it before you throw it away.
