  1. Congratulations to your friend. She is lucky to have a friend like you who is so concerned for her. I was going to say that I didn't see why it would be a problem to put her on a hiatus since they put me on one when I was on maternity leave. When I came back my card was right where I left it and I just picked up where I left off. Even though it was pregnancy related it's still medical too. Anyway, glad your friend got a resolution.
  2. Get an empty jar with a tight fitting lid. Add your ingredients, put the lid on and shake the heck out of it. It will emulsify that way or you can use a blender. If it separates just give it another shake before using it again.
  3. With that meat you would probably have been better off using a grill pan or a George FOreman grill if you have one. The meat would be better in the crockpot if you had some veggies in with it.
  4. OOh that's a good one to ask for. So far all I can come up with is a new pair of kitchen shears. Oh and clothes. 55 lbs lost will do that.
  5. Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. For the leverage thing I either get DH to do it or I sit it on my kitchen table to get a good height. The thing I had the most trouble with was hard cheese that I diced for a pasta salad but I did a bunch of lemons and limes with the wedge feature and potatoes for oven fries with the small dicer and it worked great. As for the blades it has a wedger and a corer and they use the same pusher. The dicer has its own and so does the slicer. I got it for my birthday in August. As soon as I saw it (I got an e-mail about it) I had to have it.
  6. Carol, I have that Williams Sonoma chopper and it is awesome. It does everything it describes. My only problem is that my counters are taller than average and I am shorter than average so it's hard for me to get enough leverage on some of the more solid vegetables I want to chop. Other than that though, it's great. It all stores together which is nice and it's dishwasher safe. I hope you enjoy it.
  7. Congrats on 55 pounds!!!!! You are doing awesome! So sorry to hear about your grandpa though - thank goodness he's doing better. I'm doing ok - still struggling to hit that crazy 10 pound mark. You just wouldn't believe the roller coaster I've been on in the last year. I made it as high as 7 and then stalled and then started to gain again. My thyroid meds have been changed numerous times, but I'm still "stuck". I'm trying to really amp up the exercise right now, but it's TOM week so I don't know if it's working yet. Not giving up though. Everyone else is doing OK. Some have struggled lately, but I think we're all getting back in gear now. I think it was a tough summer all over the board. You should stop by in your free time. You have lots and lots and lots of that, right? LOLOL

  8. Awww you are sweet. I am still around. I've lost 55 lbs so far. Still got a long way to go but I'm happy with it. I got stuck at 50 but I think I'm past that.

Work is crazy. My grandpa was sick this summer so I was dealing with that. He's better now though.

How are you doing? Everyone in SAHM doing well too?

  9. Hi Aimee! We miss you at SAHM!!! How is everything going?

  10. Well we eat at Wendy's frequently. I get the Ultimate chicken grill sandwich for 7 points. The baked potato for 5 points with some low fat ranch dressing instead of butter and sour cream. And a side salad with LF ranch.
  11. We have fiesta friday every week too. I usually get a grilled chicken soft taco and a steak quesadilla easy on the cheese. I ask for sour cream on the side and try to go easy on the chips. I don't so much count them as just take it easy. (I like the idea of counting them out and breaking them in to little pieces) To drink I always get iced tea. Once in a great while I'll get the small frozen margerita but not often. Don't be afraid to order from the a la carte menu, that way you won't be tempted by the sides of beans and rice. (It's almost always cheaper that way too) Good luck
  12. I was on Atkins several years ago and lost about 30 lbs too. I also gained it back and then some. It was difficult to make the change to WW but I keep thinking about what all of the doctors say, "eat less, move more" I guess technically you could do WW and Atkins together but the atkins foods are so high in points you wouldn't feel like you were getting anything. You might want to consider Core, which is similar to atkins in that you are eating mostly real foods and no processed junk and also eating from a preset list of foods. Good luck with your journey. You can do it. oh, and eat all of your points.
  13. yeah those soups are good too and the healthy selection ones are low fat and low sodium right?
  14. 24 oz frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 can 98% FF cream of mushroom soup 1 can 98% FF cream of chicken soup 4 oz can mushrooms 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix 1 c FF sour cream Mix together, dump over chicken. Cook about 6 hours or longer. Serve over noodles, brown rice or mashed potatoes. Serves 6. 5 points per serving (not including noddles, rice or potatoes)
