  1. Hi Cindy! Wow you have been here since 2001! We do have similar numbers so thanks for saying Hi! I'm looking forward to my first WI on Wednesday I'll let you know how that goes!
  2. Thanks Lisa! It's always nice to be reminded you're not the only one in certain circumstances. Looks like you are doing great, keep it up!!
  3. Thank you so much Becca! I love Laughing Cow lite cheese so am going to be making this over the next couple days for sure. Congratulations on baby #2! DS turned 7 on 10/19, close birthdays!
  4. Glad I saw this because I was really on the fence about having these on my current shopping list (they are buy 1 get 2 free at my Big Y right now). I know the Hebrew National 99% FF and Ball Park smoked turkey FF franks are only 1 point versus the 2 so I'll have to wait for those to go on sale!
  5. I'm looking forward to picking some up within the next couple days. It's on sale at my Big Y (CT & MA) supermarket for 2/$5. That's the only time I can afford to pick it up. It is yummy!
  6. These are cute, and tasty. Of course the time I tried them I had coconut (I wasn't OP then). They are great for entertaining, put out on a tray they look fancy even! I think I'm going to get these at some point since I am trying to figure out ways to still keep "treats" in the house that are acceptable to DS who is 7! Those who have a BJs account can check there too.
  7. So glad you're back, I just came back too! Ancient history is right and we can do it! Oatmeal is a new staple in the morning around here. I am cooking it in larger batches that I can just pull 1/2 c. out of over the course of a few mornings. The cinnamon is excellent since it is supposed to help metabolize sugar and keep your blood sugar better regulated. Today I diced some apple into it. I also have a bag of frozen blueberries that I can throw some in from. I use Splenda in mine which doesn't use any points. I like your almonds idea, I might try throwing some of my Emerald cocoa roast almonds in there. I have gotten the perfect oatmeal with nut medley at Starbucks before when needing a breakfast fill in a hurry. It's 6 points but sticks with you. Incidentally my favorite instant oatmeal is Quaker Weight Control Banana Bread for 3 points per packet. Been trying to save money and buy less prepackaged foods though.
  8. For Thanksgiving DS and I went to visit family in Burlington, VT. I visited Ben & Jerry's factory for the third time and am always amazed at their enthusiastic and humorous tour guides. BTW I didn't bother with my sample this time at the end of the tour! (Ate too much brie on Thanksgiving LOL) Here is one of the jokes they had for the group. What do you call a Mama Cow right after she's had her baby? De-CALF-einated hee hee hee
  9. I just learned about the Hungry Girl website and recipes. I felt a tad overwhelmed looking through a few of them but the ideas she has seem awesome. My question is, does anyone have one that they've tried that have relatively FEW ingredients and has passed your taste test? I'd love to try something of HG's out but don't know where to start.
  10. I am just restarting WW after a long absence. I'm using 33 points daily right now and have to say the half point thing is very irritating to me. I use pen and paper in my 3 month journal and do the adding and subtracting mentally. I'm just curious about how people handle half points. When do you decide something is not the whole number point? Does it make or break success for people?
  11. Thank you so much, I'm really looking forward to making connections here in the forum!
  12. Hi everyone! After almost four years away from BCB and WW, I am back...I can't believe it! It's been an interesting four years! When I originally joined WW I was 257 lbs and lost about 20. That was in 2003 and I was a nursing mom. Starting sometime in 2006, I was put on a medication for issues related to depression. It is known to cause anorexia in a lot of users and by spring of last year I had lost a good 70 pounds. It's a weight loss that wasn't achieved healthfully and it's about that time (a year and a half ago) that those side effects wore off. I started a very sedentary job last fall and here I am at 267.4 lbs! I want to repeat my success, this time in a healthful way that I can maintain. This board was such a huge support in the past and I'm looking forward to helping and being helped here again!
  13. Any diet cola would work, I guess you might try experimenting with diet sprite or diet 7 up too?
  14. Bumping this up. Great recipe and very easy, it will come out totally different depending on which bbq sauce you use.
  15. Last night I had the Onion Soup Au Gratin for 3 points and the Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers for 5 points. It was an excellent meal that left me satisfied throughout the rest of the evening. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!!
