  1. I got a good deal on some portabella mushrooms. Can I freeze them? Do I need to precook first? Carole
  2. Here is a reprint of an oldie but a goodie. Author unknown. Why half price candy is the most expensive candy in the world!!! There are "Candy" holidays each year (Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas). You know them; they're the ones where Walgreens or Rite Aid sell their leftover candy at 50-75% off the day after. That's when the idea to pick up a few savings crosses our mind. In reality, remember those are the most expensive candies you can buy. Let me explain. You find a bag of chocolate eggs normally for $2.99. The day after Easter, it's on sale for $1.49. "Wow! Great deal!," you say to yourself. "I'll buy a few bags (for my kids of course)." Of course, during a weak moment, you eat the whole bag, triggering a three pound weight gain next week at the scale. (This doesn't even consider the "I blew it" syndrome which now triggers you to eat all the ham, cake, cereal, cheese, and chips in the house too…) Assuming it's only a three pound gain - and you're diligent enough to come back to your meeting, here's what it'll cost: Original bag of Candy: $3.00 Less 50% savings: -$1.50 PRICE OF CANDY: $1.50 Number of pounds you gain (example): 3 Average weight loss per week for you (usually 1-2 pounds): 1.5 Number of weeks you need to come to meetings just to make up for the candy (3 weeks divided by 1.5 pounds): 2 Cost per week for Weight Watchers: $12.00 x Number of weeks (from above): x2 Additional amount you'll pay to Weight Watchers: $24.00 Price of candy (from above): +$1.50 COST OF CANDY: $25.50 Was it worth it!!!!!!
  3. I love chili dogs. I really like the boca chili and never thought of using it on a hotdog. Great idea!!!! Thanks!
  4. I think the salmon sounds great and ask for the sauce on the side. Then you dip the tips of your fork in the sauce before you fork your fish or meat and you get the wonderful taste of the sauce without doing damage. I use this same method so I can have my beloved Ceasar salad dressing.
  5. Four Catholic mothers were having coffee together and discussing how wonderful their children were. The first mother told her friends, "My son is a priest. When he walks into a room, everyone calls him Father." The second Catholic woman chirped, "Well, my son is a bishop. Whenever he walks into a room, people say, "Your Grace." The third Catholic woman said smugly. "Well, not to put you down, but my son is a cardinal. Whenever he walks into a room, people say, "Your Eminence." The fourth Catholic woman sipped her coffee in silence. The first three women gave her a subtle "Well....?" She replied, "My son is a handsome, 6 foot 8 inch, hard-bodied Chippendale stripper. Whenever he walks into a room, everyone says, "My God."
  6. I don't understand!!!????!!!!
  7. I have never had trouble with these chips but I do not bring them to parties or gatherings unless I am comfortable telling everyone that this product has Olestra in it. There are alot of people that do have extreme reactions to this product, so unless you can let everyone know I wouldn't share them. ql
  8. I found this review on Amazon. It doesn't look good:( "BUYER BEWARE , February 22, 2005 Amazon should really offer a 0 Star option. This is put out by the same people who put together the 10 Best Fitness DVDs. (also titled 10 Best Workouts) Look here at Amazon for reviews on those workouts. Be well advised to STAY AWAY from this DVD. "
