  1. Hey Heidi! Maybe I misunderstood the ad! I don't want to say something bad about a program if I don't know what I 'm talking about! yikes!!!


    Here is the part that made me think "spot reduce" (I don't think I saw this on the website, but it was on the pop up)


    "My newest body-slimming program zeros in on your trouble spots and helps you start to shrink your fat zones in 6 weeks!"

  2. When this last program came out, my leader at the time told us we had to start counting raw carrots as 1 pt per cup (I think) that's been so long ago! And I don't know how accurate that is, she was kind of screwy! ha!

  3. Thanks Girls! Well, I attempted to try to run last night, just to see if I could even do it. So i tried one minute on, 3-4 minutes off. Seven times. it was hard but not as bad as I had imagined in my head. And my knees actually didn't hurt at all. Maybe I can give credit to all my walking for that?


    I think this is something I could actually do, but I"d like to invest in a good pair of running shoes and a new ipod in the next few weeks before I really get into it. I love the idea of the podcast for this!!!

  4. OKay, I know you guys can help if anyone can.

    I've been walking for my exercise (anywhere between 2-4 miles) for the past few months. I walk because it's easy, and no stress on my joints.


    I've been wanting to step it up a little, and was looking at the Couch to 5k. I know yall will think I'm crazy, but I'm mortified to start this thing! I'm only 32 lbs over my goal weight, which I know is nothing compared to some. But I've NEVER been even one ounce athletic, and my knees give me trouble at every turn. I seriously cannot even run or jog for one minute without being out of breath or my knees hurting. Plus I feel like when I run that my rump is bouncing all over the place! :bcb_blush

    I know the first week I think you run 60, walk 90, and even that gives me anxiety.

    Was anyone else afraid to start and what is everyones experience with this?

    haha! that is funny! and scary all at the same time. my mom used to tell me when I was a teenager and wanted a tatoo to just imagine if I got a tat of a butterfly on my boob....today its a lovely butterfly, but 30 years from now it's a wilted piece of spinach laying on your boobie. (gross way to put it, but guess how many tatoos I have today..O) She scared the heLL out of me!!!!

I guess I got it in my head because every night when I go to the track, there is this young guy (not exactly an overweight 30 something with crappy knees, but hey) Who is just booking it around that track with huge ankle weights on. And his legs are oh so nice....(not that I am looking or anything...)


    I did decide to keep them for leg lifts and such. SO, as far as the hand weights go, they are 3 lbs each. IF I did decide to carry them with me when I'm walking close to the body, as Nancy mentioned, what would that benefit? or would I just be better off swinging my arms like when you power walk? THanks again!

  7. Thought I'd ask you exercise guru's over here if any of you know... I bought some 2.5 lb ankle weights, and thought I would wear them while I walk/jog the track. But when I opened the box, it said that they are NOT to be used while walking or running. That you should only use them during aerobic exercise and/or weight training. Does anyone know why? Is it too hard on your knees or what? TIA buddies!!! :bcb_bigsm
