10 Good
  1. I eat 2 or 3 fruits every day. I never drink fruit juice. I eat a can of kidney beans on probably half the days. I just add chipotle seasoning and vinegar. I love them that way. And it adds a big amount of fiber to my diet which is always a good thing. I often eat green peas as well.
  2. I think that because of the fiber and water in fruits that you couldn't eat enough to gain weight eating fruit. When I was doing Fuhrman's Eat to Live way of eating a few years back I ate at least 10 servings of fruit (and lots of veggies and beans) every day, simply because it was summer and I love nectarines, bananas, blackberries and peaches. I lost about 2 pounds a week eating that way. But I wasn't eating any animal products either so that might have made a difference. As much as I love fruit, I found that after about the 10th serving, I was stuffed and couldn't eat any more. I didn't worry about quantity and I probably ate a little beyond being "satisfied" but I was eating a lot of leafy greens too. With the WW diet I'm eating less quantity wise but still including about 4 servings of fruit per day but including some chicken and fish. I've lost 2 pound each of the first two weeks. It'll be interesting to see how it goes after several weeks.
  3. Congrats on the weight loss, Ann! I eat a cup of cooked rolled oats each morning with some kind of fruit. I come out ahead since I don't have to count the fruit anymore. I think oatmeal is one of the best foods for staying with you the whole morning.
  4. Yesterday was my 2 week weigh-in and I lost another 2 pounds! So 4 pounds total since I started this new program.

    Here I Go

Ann, congrats on getting back on the program. We seem to be in similar places and have similar goals. Hopefully we'll both lose quickly on this new program.
  6. I hadn't been eating many processed foods when I was trying to lose weight so my eating didn't change very much. I've always liked fruit a lot so this new program is really nice. I'm trying to get more of my protein from beans and whole grains which are high in fiber. That really affects the way I feel.
  7. I've lost 2-1/2 lbs in the last week. I've been eating oatmeal with fruit most days for breakfast and have had a pretty easy time sticking to the plan. I love fruit so I eat at least 4 to 5 pieces a day, mostly apples. I've found the 85% cocoa chocolate is only 3 or 4 points for two squares, depending on the brand, so have been having that some nights. I LOVE chocolate! And anything over 70% cocoa content is supposed to have some antioxidents in it. I have to do better on exercise. I haven't been getting much outside of normal activities.
  8. I had coffee this morning and skipped breakfast. I know I should eat, but just wasn't hungry.
  9. I consider my home weigh-in, first thing in the morning, without clothes to be my "real" weight too. The differences in what I've been eating and drinking by late in the afternoon at WW would vary too much. And now I've changed to a different meeting that is on Tuesday instead of Thursday. But I'm staying with the Thursday weigh-in at home as my "real" weight.
  10. 2 points for me this week. Up until yesterday my weight was hovering between half a point and a point lost so far in the week. Today is 1 week and I've lost 2 pounds! The best part is that it was easy and I didn't feel at all deprived.
  11. I guess my breakfasts are pretty boring, usually the same thing: Oatmeal - 4 Fresh cranberries (microwaved in the oatmeal - 0 Splenda Coffee w/soy creamer - 1
  12. Dot, 4.2 pounds is wonderful! So glad the new program is working for you! Congrats!
  13. Tomorrow will be Day 7 for me and I've lost a pound so far. I weigh myself in the morning before eating anything and before getting dressed. That's the weight that matters for me, not the one on my weigh in day that is later in the afternoon at the center.
  14. Another "Bravo!" from me! You should get extra points if your nostrils freeze together when you breathe in!
  15. Oatmeal with fresh cranberries Coffee
