  1. I enjoy a cup of frozen Californa mix veggies steamed in the microwave mixed w/ 1c. brown rice, Gorton's fish filet. This huge bowl of food is only 5 points!!!
  2. My activity varies from day to day. I am doing 2 hours a day 5 days a week plus other activity. I rest on Sundays! Today I am going to a Dance Jam class. It is high intensity for 1 hour. Then I will use the toning machines for about 30 minutes. I will look at my activity points and make sure that I am adding them up correctly! Thanks!!!!
  3. Hey buddies, I have been working out for about 5-6 weeks at Curves about 3-4 days a week and decided to join a gym and get more serious for me. I just wasn't getting a good enough cardio workout but now I am STARVING ALL THE TIME!!!! Seriously, I could eat every 1 1/2 hours. The problem is that I am! I am going over on my points and therefore I am not losing but I'm not gaining either. I am working out about 2 hours a day and at an intensity that I have NOT seen in a looooong time. Is this just an adjustment my metabolism is going through? I really can't handle being this hungry everday that I workout. Please help! Thanks, Yvonne:buddysmoo
  4. I joined a new gym last week. It is beautiful! It's a state of the art facility. I feel like I am at a resort. Check it out http://brookshealthfitness.com/amenities.html I am totally lovin' this place. I took a Body Jam class last week that was salsa type dancing. It was so much fun! Saturday I took a class called Dance Tease!!! WOW!!! I am soooooooooo sore this morning! That class kicked my tail but it was so much fun. Have any of you done this class? They have belly dancing to but its on Wednesday night and I have church that night. __________________

  7. What are your favorite workout tapes/DVDs? I need to start a collection. I have walk away the pounds, firm w/ fannie lifter, what other ones do you enjoy? I would lOVE a dancing workout. Any suggestions???

  9. chicken enchiladas is my fav! You can add some corn and black beans for another 2 points but an even more filling meal!

Cajun Potato chicken Veggie Pie: 10 oz. raw shredded potatoes (I used the Yukon Gold variety, but I guess you could use any type of potato) 4oz. cooked loose ground chicken (could use turkey or ground beef or 8oz crumbled tofu or whatever for protein!) 2 cups stir fried veggies (I used vidalia sweet onions, red peppers, yellow and green squash and mushrooms) 1/4 teaspoon safe cajun seasoning - mine is a store brand Spray a glass pie dish and press the 10oz. shredded potatoes in to make a "crust" - spray top of potatoes after forming into crust. Bake at 400 - 450 for 20 min (depending how brown and crunchy you like em) While crust is baking, In one pan spray cooking spray and brown ground chicken (or whatever protein you're using - hint 5 1/2oz. raw cooks to 4 oz.) - or if you're like me and batch this stuff, pull out your thawed baggie from the fridge (I put it out the night before into the fridge) or from the freezer and place in safe glass dish to defrost in microwave. In another pan, spray cooking spray and stir fry your cut up veggies (another hint, 3 cups of raw veggies cooks to 2 cups)- make sure veggies are still crunchy, don't overcook as they will finish cooking in oven Pull out your crust and top with the chicken (or other protein) Sprinkle cajun seasoning on top Pour your cooked veggies on top of this and spread over like a pizza topping Put back in oven for 10-15 min (again depending how done you like it)

Hamburger Soup Counts as a complete lunch or dinner, plus broth option Ingredients 路 4 oz cooked ground beef 路 1 cup clean beef broth 路 1 cup clean tomato sauce 路 1 cup chopped veggies - see note, below 路 1/4 tsp dried mixed herbs - I usually use oregano and parsley 路 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, but a must for me) 路 Dash garlic powder 路 Dash black pepper 路 1 cup cooked grain - I usually use brown rice 路 Water Preparation Combine all ingredients except cooked grain in a saucepan. Bring to a light boil and reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer until vegetables are tender, around 10 minutes, depending on size of veggies. Add cooked grain and enough water to bring the mixture to a soupy consistency. Heat through. Note: For the veggies, try a combination of carrots, parsnips, and celery. I have tried others, but these seem to work the best. I have also made it several times with just carrots, or carrots and celery, and it has been good. I did not like it at all when I used onions and green peppers.
