OK - so I had an NSV yesterday - went to our departmental Xmas party - we went bowling. I had my bud lights as I knew I would and they had a little buffet - chips/salsa, chicken wings, pizza and salad - ALL I HAD WAS THE SALAD! I was so proud of myself! AND the scale was down this morning!! WOO HOO instead of up as it would have been if I'd tried the wings and/or pizza!!! I need to do the "Just didn't do it" phrase more often!

Hey Soda! Just got this update and saw that you made goal - how AWESOME!! I have had a slow year since I got back from Fiji in April and have been hovering around in the same 5 lbs for 6 months now. Am getting recommitted NOW!! I went back and reread some of this thread and some of my old ones. I am down 15+ lbs from last Christmas so am still ahead of the game and know that I can and will do this!!Have a very Merry Christmas and a Rockin' Maintainin' New Year!

I chose the ww plan because I can manage to lose weight and to continue to enjoy drinking my light beer with family/friends - being in the hospitality industry - it's what we do....I've managed 41.8 lbs so far, I'd say I drink 3-4 times a week - I use my flex points for it. Don't get me wrong - I have cut back extraordinarily which is not only better for weight loss, but also better for my general health. I'm just saying it is possible to find a balance that works for you - with or without the alcohol - it's each person's personal choice. To me, THAT is the beauty of the ww plan and being able to LIVE IT! :bcbsalute

Thanks for clearing this up - I had heard the 4 AP max and didn't know - I don't usually earn more than 4 a day anyway but it's good to know.

My DH too - never a weight problem (you're not supposed to trust a "skinny chef"! ) but he's been very supportive and loves to see me in pretty new outfits (I'm not much of a girly girl although I like dressing up more when I'm thinner so it's a bonus for him too!!) Have a great day!

Thanks Soda - let's both GET that 40 lb star this week!!! I went for awhile using flex and AP - now I write down my activity but I dont use the points as I really didn't lose when I used them as well as flex.....so we'll see....I had a good fibre cereal (WW Cinnamon Crunch) for breaky - I'm hoping it will clear me up;) .... And you are right - as long as we keep going, we will keep moving forward....10th of a pound by 10th of a pound....

Thanks Angel - I sure hope April is better - if I don't get over this 40lb mark soon I'm going to lose that determination! I was really good all weekend and the scale was looking great - used a few flex on Sunday and now it doesn't look so good - in the past, using flex didn't affect my loss, but lately it seems to be deterring my loss - anyone else find that?

Thanks for the support - doing great and planning a big loss this week - I think I must have just been retaining water or something... Had a meeting yesterday and they brought in a huge tray of pastries and goodies - when we had a break - I went to my desk, got my 3 pt sandwich, a 1 pt yogurt and a 2pt Special K bar - went back to the meeting room and stayed OP!! I didn't do it! Yeah for me!!

Well team - sad to say I was up .4 but I have a great Just didn't do it story... As I was driving home from ww totally depressed and angry I knew I was going to eat the whole bloody basket of easter chocolate - who cares...went 2 days without it...didn't help....da da da da da....but when I got home, I realized that was NOT going to help - I'd only feel worse in the morning....so I DIDN'T DO it - I'm not sure but maybe I've passed some kind of threshold...we'll see how it holds up....I know I just have to keep going and I'll get there - going to recommit to totally OP - writing EVERYTHING down and exercising as much as possible (we are really slammed at work in April/May - lots of early morning starts and late nights - for instance today In at 6:30am - home tonight at 8:30pm - doesn't leave much room for exercise ). But totally refocusing - got my 3 books out - lost 20 lbs in the first one 10.4 lbs in the second one and 9.0 in the third - going to lose at least 15 over the next 12 weeks! Great job at the chinese restaurant Angel!! Keep up the great work!:bcbsalute
