  4. I love the 5 mile WATP DVD!!:walking: I do all 5 miles using dumbbells because I don't have the belt or stretchy. It's a great workout!! Remember--you can always modify any of her routines--the important thing is that you just keep moving!!

Before I reached my goal, I weighed in each Sat morning nekkid--after going potty and before eating anything. I always considered that my "true" weight. Now on maintenance, I weigh in more often but still in my birthday suit! If you would rather weigh in with clothes on--just wear the same outfit--pj's maybe--so that clothes will not be a variable. Just don't let that scale become the center of your world!!
  6. I've done WATP tapes for years and last lyear started to look for something different and found Jazzercise--talk about FUN!!!! Try going to: https://togs.jazzercise.com/TOGS.dll?TOGS:TCAT_ItemSelect:0:SSID=1772450500&SC=4&SSC=0&PageNum=1 Look around. They have a place to see the different moves, etc. I really enjoy the Pure Jazzercise and the sculpt and stretch ones!! I hope that link worked--if not just go to www.jazzercise.com!
  7. I have DVDs for cardio and strength but really need one for flexibility. Tried Pilates--don't care for it. Yoga is too discouraging--think I would do ok if I had teachers for both on them--but that is out of the question. So, anyone know of one for a senior who no longer moves like she did when younger?!! Thank you!
  8. Check out http://collagevideo.com/cart/default.aspxut You can preview the tapes/DVDs to see if they are what you want. I buy all of my exercise tapes from them--excellent service. Acckk!! I just tried that link and it doesn't work--just type in collagevideo.com in the url--that should do it!
  9. I just bought the 5 Mile WATP DVD--love it!! I used to only do WATP tapes and noticed a big difference--really shaped my legs and hiney!! Now I do all different kinds of tapes but still use WATP at least 3 times a week.
  10. I found this recipe in the 2/14/06 issue of Womansday--totally Core! I changed the recipe and will note them at the end. Barley-Squash Pilaf 1 Tbsp olive oil 12 oz butternut squash cut into 1/2" cubes 1 cup chopped onion 1 small red pepper, chopped 1 cup pearl barley (not quick-cooking) 1 can (14 oz) chicken broth 1/2 tsp each dried sage & thyme 1/4 tsp each salt & pepper 1 tsp grated lemon zest. Heat oil over med. heat. Add squash, onion, & red pepper; saute 3 minutes. Add barley and cook 3 minutes to slightly toast. Add broth, 1/2 cup water, seasonings. Cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat & simmer, covered, 20-25 minutes, or until barley is just tender. Remove from heat and stir in lemon zest. tweaks: I used a mixture of yams, asparagus, fresh green beans (what I had on hand). Yams cooked to a really soft stage so maybe will add them a little later--but they were yummy anyway! I also used red, yellow, and orange peppers cause I had pieces of all three! Barley is still chewy and nutty. I loved this!!
  11. The Biggest Loser video is excellent. Has hi and lo intensity cardio sections, sculpt and strengthen and a Boot Camp--kick your hiney section. You can mix and match which sections you want to do. I just bought Leslie Sansone's 5 Mile WATP DVD--love it. You can go with as many miles as you want--I use 2-5 lb weights because I don't have resistance bands. Heckuva workout!! I also like my Pure Jazzercise video--really enjoy the whole thing--instructor, music, routine. Time flies!!
  12. Tiffany, I don't have the belt or band, either--I use 2-5 lb weights and get a great workout. And as Leslie always says--even without any kind of weight, you get a really great workout. About turning off the voice--I don't think you can do that on the VHS tapes. I used to just turn off the sound, crank up some really good music and go for it!! At one time, I was eve doing the routines while listening to books on tape!! The point is to MOVE!!
  13. I have used WATP tapes for years and have just started doing the 5 Mile one--love it--fast flying 65 minutes!
  14. I've had mine for a week or so. I like it--but by the 5th mile I am sort of bored so I do moves from other videos--some kick boxing, some jazzercise, some Biggest Loser stuff!! I turn off the voice and just crank up the music. (Sorry, Leslie, but you just get on my nerves with all that chatter!!) Don't you think Joanne looks great--she looks like she is slimmer than in the 4 mile tape I had. And did you notice that Leslie has "bat wings"--her arms jiggle!! Makes me feel great!!
  15. Barb, Merryheart beat your pm by 1 minute--LOL!! Sorry.
