    WII Fit

    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on the fit game from Jillian. It isn't user friendly. Kinda clunky. I like the Wii Fit, because it is just so darn fun. I found I really liked the yoga - which I never thought I would and the balancing games are great.

  3. I hope this is OK to post here. It just brought me to tears. KURTIS THE STOCK BOY AND BRENDA THE CHECKOUT GIRL In a supermarket, Kurtis the stock boy, was busily working when a new voice came over the loud speaker asking for a carry out at register 4. Kurtis was almost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer the call. As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, the new check-out girl was beautiful. She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he was only 22) and he fell in love. Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to find out her name. She came into the break room, smiled softly at him, took her card and punched out, then left. He looked at her card, BRENDA. He walked out only to see her start walking up the road. Next day, he waited outside as she left the supermarket, and offered her a ride home. He looked harmless enough, and she accepted. When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again, outside of work. She simply said it wasn't possible. He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford a baby-sitter, so he offered to pay for the baby-sitter. Reluctantly she accepted his offer for a date for the following Saturday. That Saturday night he arrived at her door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him. The baby-sitter had called and canceled. To which Kurtis simply said, "Well, let's take the kids with us." She tried to explain that taking the children was not an option, but again not taking no for an answer, he pressed. Finally Brenda, brought him inside to meet her children. She had an older daughter who was just as cute as a bug, Kurtis thought, then Brenda brought out her son, in a wheelchair. He was born a paraplegic with Down Syndrome. Kurtis asked Brenda, "I still don't understand why the kids can't come with us?" Brenda was amazed. Most men would run away from a woman with two kids, especially if one had disabilities - just like her first husband and father of her children had done. Kurtis was not ordinary - - - he had a different mindset. That evening Kurtis and Brenda loaded up the kids, went to dinner and the movies. When her son needed anything Kurtis would take care of him. When he needed to use the restroom, he picked him up out of his wheelchair, took him and brought him back. The kids loved Kurtis. At the end of the evening, Brenda knew this was the man she was going to marry and spend the rest of her life with. A year later, they were married and Kurtis adopted both of her children. Since then they have added two more kids. So what happened to Kurtis the stock boy at a grocery store in Cedar Falls/Waterloo, IA and Brenda the check-out girl? Well, Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Warner now live in Arizona , where he is currently employed as the quarterback of the National Football League Arizona Cardinals and has his Cardinals in the hunt for a possible appearance in the Super Bowl. Is this a surprise ending or could you have guessed that he was not an ordinary person. It should be noted that he also quarterbacked the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. He has also been the NLF's Most Valuable Player twice and the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player. ********* makes you wish the arizona cardinals win the playoffs, plus the superbowl..huh.

  5. I am on my second I Pod and couldn't live with out it. My first one was smaller and I wore it out and out grew it. The one I have now is 120 gb and I have 5500 songs on it, movies, tv shows and 125 music videos. The smaller ones are nicer for exercise as mine is the size of my cell phone. You can create multiple playlists of your favorite songs or I tunes has a feature called Genius. You play your favorite song and tell it to start Genius and I tunes will then pull 25 to 50 songs from your library that are similar to the favorite song. You can save these playlists as well. I have playlists that I call Bike Ridin for when I am riding my bike and what not. My friend also has the same I Pod and we "share" music by transferring it to a flashdrive from I tunes and then uploading it into our I Tunes. We've shared probably 1500 songs between us. You can transfer music from Lime Wire, your own CD's or CD's that have been burned or you can buy them from I Tunes. You really do have a lot of options as how to get the music. I had an MP3 player that was specifically designed for exercise, which was fine- -but I could not live with out my I Pod.

  7. We generously coat our chicken with Lemon Pepper both on the skin and under the skin. I also put about 1/8 of cup of lemon pepper in the beer can as well. I always place an onion or potato in the the neck cavity to help seal the steam in. It always turns out wonderfully.

  9. It didn't over power the fish at all. The fillets were not too big and probably 1/2" thick, so they didn't have to cook a real long time. I personally like the Alder wood. I thought it complimented the fish better. We cooked 6 fillets, two per board. 4 on Alder wood and 2 on Cedar. Alder wood was the favorite.
  10. We cooked this camping this week-end and it was fantastic. Everyone raved about it. We used freshly caught filets of Kokanee (land locked Salmon), but it works the same with Salmon purchased at the store. We have also used that. Points would just be for the weight of the fish eaten, as the olive oil only comes contact with the skin - which isn't eaten. 1 Alder wood or Cedar plank - soaked in water for 1 hour. (these can be purchased at the hard ware store or usually in the BBQ section of most stores) 2-3 Tablespoons Olive Oil (depending on size of plank) 1 Fish Fillet or two small Salt and Pepper to taste Lemon Pepper to taste ( or other favorite fish seasonings) Lemon Juice (or fresh lemons) Remove the board from the water and shake off excess water. Lightly brush one side the board with the olive oil. Place the fillet, skin side down on the olive oil. Season fillet to taste. Let set for about 10 minutes. Place on a preheated medium heat BBQ grill. Close the lid and grill. About 5-10 minutes depending on size of fillet. Once the fish has reached desired doneness and appears to be a bit dry around the edges, remove from heat. Drizzle with lemon juice. Let rest for a couple of minutes and serve. The wood will "smoke" slightly and the flavor will infuse the fish. We used Alder wood, but Cedar is very good too. Have a spray bottle handy in case wood catches fire. Ours did not catch fire or have charred ends, so I plan to re-use it after a thorough washing.
  11. I bought some Mahi Mahi at Sam's club. While I really like Mahi Mahi, I have never cooked it. I am thinking I want to grill it - can somebody help me out with a recipe?? Thanks
  12. I made this for dinner last night and it was very good. Cheap and very versatile, you could really add lots of veggies for no additional points. DH had two HUGE servings. I am not a big fan of Teriyaki sauce, but this was tasty. Stir Fry Chicken with Pasta POINTS® Value: 5 Servings: 4 Ingredients 8 oz uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed 1 bunch Bok Choy, Coarsely chopped 1 red bell pepper(s), chopped or slivered 1/3 cup scallion(s), sliced - about 2-3 ea 2 banana peppers - sliced (optional - I just like this one) 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce 8 oz uncooked whole-wheat spaghetti - I used Barilla Instructions Break spaghetti in half and place in boiling water according to directions. While spaghetti is cooking, in a prepared skillet - sprayed with Pam, add chicken and cook until chicken is about half way cooked, then add chopped veggies. When the veggies and chicken are nearly completely cooked add about 1/2 of the Teriyaki sauce and stir to cover all. The spaghetti should be about finished cooking by now, drain and add to veggie mixture to "stir fry", you may want to add the remaining Teriyaki sauce. You only want enough sauce to cover mixture, not soupy. The choice and amount of veggies are optional.
  13. Just bumping up so it doesn't get lost. It is so good. I like to add salsa and cilantro to it for a mexican kick.
  14. These are the best. DH and I both love them. He was eating one at his job the other day and a co-worker said his girlfried had turned him on to them. He loved them so much he ate SIX in one day!!!! He said he really wouldn't recommend that, We know what he did for the rest of the day.
  15. The Oats and Caramel are like a candy bar they are so good. Normally, I don't like this type of bar, but these are all really good. Their Fiber One Yogurt is really good too!
