  1. Hello Everybuddy! I am taking the place of a Blue team member who had to drop out and am happy to be onboard! GO BLUE! Posted my results, and am down 0.4 lbs. I need to do better with the eating, but I have exercising down pretty well. AMY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Old lady... J/K! You look younger than me, and I'm not happy about that. Heehee!   3. My DH doesn't like whole wheat anything or brown rice or fruits/veggies, so I usually cook something I can add veggies to to bulk it up for me. Like a casserole or something. But if he doesn't want what I've made, he can by all means, make himself something else. And he does sometimes, and it doesn't bother me. But if I'm doing the cooking, I'm cooking what I want to eat and what is healthy for my family.
  4. Mexican *can* be one of the easiest and healthies meals ever! Choose corn tortillas that are just heated, not fried w/oil. ask for black beans or you could even have the refried ones BUT usually the restaurants use the full-fat or ones made w/lard, so be very careful about your portions. Stay away from tortilla chips, they are a trigger for alot of people, especially me! I scoot them down the table where I can't reach. Have something like fajitas and you can make it healthy. Or tacos are good, just no fried corn tortillas, and be careful of the flour ones too. tacos have chicken or steak, no ground beef, has alot of fat. lots of veggies/salad on them, and the salsa is ok too, so have fun and don't be scared!
  5. I don't know for a fact but I would assume that soy products substitute for dairy. I just found out I'm lactose intolerant and have been drinking soy milk and counting it for my dairy. I think soy cheese is the same. That's how I'm doing it anyway, but I'm not 100% it's fact.
  6. OK Amy, I know I gave up on Core this week, but I will plan the next couple days, go get stuff, find some recipes and join you on Wednesday (my WPA's reset)! We can do this! I need to stick with it and get my act in gear. Core is possible if I want it to be and am not afraid of not counting. It is a wonderful program if I allow myself to enjoy it and experiment with things. You have inspired me girl!!

Have you checked out the Smart Ones frozen dinners or on a good day you could make (or buy frozen) a few low-fat low-point chicken pot pies (swanson I believe is a fairly decent low-point chicken pot pie) or low point soups and freeze them. Some frozen bagged pasta meals are fairly low point and require minimal preparation.
  8. I thought maybe corn tortillas were core, but I didn't see they were in my book. What do you guys use instead, or do you make your own CORE-n tortillas?
  9. Garlic, and italian seasonings, and one time I tried some cumin and chili powder with crushed red pepper for a kick. It was pretty good I think. Some lemon pepper seasoning one time was ok, but not great. I haven't done it that much, but I love experimenting with it.
  10. I LOVE couscous! And that's the only brand the commissary carries, so that's all we get. The parmesan is good too, and the original I like with my own seasonings added in.
  11. Dave, I am going to try Core this week because of you! I am really struggling staying OP this week and I think not counting could really help me get back on track. I AM kinda 'scared' I guess, but I'll just have to pay attention to myself this week and eat Core things. I may not lose 12 lbs, but hopefully I'll be in better tune with my body. Thanks for your motivational post, I really look forward to following in your footsteps. :buddysmoo
