  1. Here is a great site to get Davinci syrups. Da Vinci At $57 for a case of 12, that is a pretty good deal! Thanks to all of you posting up inspirational recipes! Bill SW #388 6/15/2003 CW #351 Goal to reach 10% by Thanksgiving easily in reach GW #250 (seems reasonable to me)
  2. Paris, Thanks for the recipe for the Black Forest Trifle. Might try it this weekend! I have a whole case of the cherry filling and a case of the apple filling I bought from Lucky Leaf before they started carrying it in the stores. Coffee

Coffee head to coffee nuts: I am the ultimate coffee junkie. I roast my own beans twice a week and get going at 3:30 a.m. with a triple shot. We have a Miele Coffee system built-in to the cabinet, what can I saw...hooked. For the coffee rookie, it does stimulate the appetite, and does make you pee more. Some folks use as an eye opener. Me...I could take a nap after a triple shot of expresso. Like anything else, it can be a part of this program. My blood pressure, despite my weight, is down around 118/78, so no impact there. I take a slug of diuretics because of my medical problems, but MD ok'd my coffee because of the negligble effect on my vital signs. My coffee isn't weak, and cooworkers I treat to a little cup from my French Press at work walk around all morning wired... Nothing better than fresh coffee! You have to watch what you put in that morning cup to make it "yours." I use splenda and half and half(about 1 -2 oz a day) I build it into my program, because I just can't stand milk or the non-dairy creamers. To me it is worth the points, and plain coffee is just not for me! (1 pt/2 Tbsp.) Bill SW #388 6/15/2003 CW #351.5 Goal to reach 10% by Thanksgiving easily in reach GW #250 (seems reasonable to me)
  4. Good source for Davinci syrups: DaVinci Dealer I paid $57 for 12 bottles + shipping to this dealer in California. She also carries Chai, which is absolutely obscene! Bill SW #388 6/15/2003 CW #351.5 Goal to reach 10% by Thanksgiving easily in reach GW #250 (seems reasonable to me)
  5. Way to Go! Hope to do that myself by Thanksgiving(or before) Well Done! Bill SW 388 June 18, 2003 CW 358 GW 250
  6. Vitamix is a wonderful machine. I grew up with the 3600. When my mother had to go into assisted living, my sister got hers. I had forgotten how wonderful it was. I bought my first, a 3600 plus, on ebay too. I used it for awhile then I saw a demo of the newer model. The ultimate consumer, I bought a stand alone 5000 for the kitchen, and then later picked up one of the surface mounted commercial ones used for use in either the bar or an RV. It is sitting downstairs waiting for that decision to be made! It is so powerful I think my wife is afraid of using it! I doubt I will ever use the 3600 plus again. I used to use it for milling flour, but don't need that any longer. I think I will try Ebay to see if I can find a new home for it. Keep blending. The Vitamix is indeed the best! Bill
  7. Long ago, we made this with the prepared Pizza crust... Didn't call it a casserole, but more appropriately, a deep dish pizza... Just sounds better that way. Try cooking the Turkey meat in a collander in the microwave... gets rid of more of the fat. No matter what you call it, it still tastes darn good as a pizza substitute. Bill
  8. These really sound incredible. Will have to give them a try. During the Christmas season, I did a lot of baking on French Silpat sheets... Very cool way to keep things from sticking. When I was picking them up, I noticed some flexible plastic cupcake "pans." Anyone ever try these? When I make these, I think I will make them as cupcakes...easier to control the portions for me and first time will make in muffin pans with paper inserts. 9. The Mad site is absolutely incredible...I have spent hours bringing the recipes into Mastercook on my Mac (Once you go Mac you never go back ). Beacoups appreciation for the additional recipes supplied by Frisky. Will eventually get all them into Mastercook so I can go through them. I actually use a program on my Mac called Computer Cuisine on the Mac which uses Filemaker to organize and sort. I like it because of the way it prints out the recipes...All fluff and no function. Mastercook is more utilitarian, and far better to go through nutritional components. I only have an older copy, and have purchased some instructions and an actual stand alone of Mastercook on Ebay. If you don't have it yet, that is a good place to look for it at a reasonable price. Bill 368/332/220 OP since 5/4/2001 minus 36 lbs 10% Goal = 332 Achieved 8/28/2001
