  1. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!" Thank heavens! Its so frustrating how WW keeps changing the program. It was the first time EVER that I felt like I had no clue what to do with the program. I cant really afford to go to meetings right now so I thought I would just start doing Core from memory and the old materials (from the last change). The points program was never for me and I cant picture doing it now. How can I count points for fruit and milk ever again? Do you know of anyone thats been on Core who made the switch and is seeing a difference?
  2. I logged onto WW to renew my membership on-line. I was so turned off by all the changes. I was lost and totally confused. What do you all think of this new program and is anyone still following the old Core program?
  3. Morning ladies... Sorry Ive been absent there has been so much going on including this historical election all the news made it very hard to focus. Im dead tired today and look forward to getting back to my everyday routine (which will be tomorrow, LOL...) I wanted to let you know that Im still plugging away. Have a great day.
  4. Good morning buddies. Just a quick check in for me today. I dont want a day to pass without checking in cause that one day can turn into 5. Im ready for an OP day. Ive got my first weigh in (from home) in the morning and Im hoping to see a loss, even if I dont at least I know I have been on plan all week and its a step in the right direction. Have a wonderful day ladies.
  5. Mornin' buddies... It’s a beautiful day here in NJ, cold but the skies are blue and sunny. Yesterday turned out to be a good day and so far today seems to be running smooth. I didn’t get up to workout this morning like I wanted to, my dog decided that she had to go potty at 5am so after she came back in I went back to bed for a little bit but I should have just stayed awake and gotten what I needed to do done because when I got up I didn’t have enough time to get anything done. Oh, well. I'll hop on the treadmill later this evening. RW2L - I love walking in the evening after everything has been done. It relaxes me and gives me time to shake off the stresses of the day. It feels so good to come home to a warm house. Linda - Do you make your own Miso soup or do you purchase it. Is it core? That’s a great idea for Chinese, I never thought to just make our own. My DH LOVES Chinese food but its so bad for him, maybe I can get away with serving this for dinner sometime. Sarah - I’m guessing you’re a teacher... The helicopter sounds really cool (for the kids, LOL)... Liz - Wow, that’s a great loss with TOM lurking. Great job. Bridget - Waking up to breakfast is awesome! I keep hearing about all these cool pumpkin recipes, I wish I could eat it. I’m allergic to it. I'm sorry to hear about the bathroom at your church, thats a bummer. Have a great day everyone...
  6. Morning buddies... I did a much better job with planning today. I have everything I need for the day and Im feeling strong. I was up super early this morning and banged out my workout so Im good to go for the day. I made brown rice in the oven last night. It was just okay. I liked that I didnt have to watch it but it was kind of chewy, I like the stove top version much better but it will have to do. Maybe I can steam it when I heat it up in the microwave later. I made "ropa veja" ("old clothes" - cuban shredded beef in tomato sauce) last night for dinner and it came out really good. It takes long to prepare but its a pretty easy recipe I'll try to get it in writing if anyone is interested. RW2L - Goodness, Im glad your baby is okay. Mine is 14 (almost 6') and when he gets hurt I loose my mind (maybe over react? LOL). Its so hard when they are small. WW - Are the Titians the team you were routing for? If so, YAY... If not, Booo!!! Kimberly - Happy Birthday Nathan!!! Time really does fly by, I look at my baby (well look up at him ) and wonder where all the time went. I hope he enjoys his special day. Have a great day all buddies to follow...
  7. Good morning buddies, I hope your day is shaping up nicely. Im so tired today... I spent most of my weekend cooking core foods to have on hand for the week so I would have an easier time sticking to the plan but somehow managed to leave the house with two boiled eggs and a fruit smoothie for the day . My stupid alarm didnt go off this morning and had to get DS to school and myself to work. My planning today was terrible but I'll make the best of it. I think I might have some soup in the pantry here at work and if my back is up against the wall, I always have oatmeal... Have a great day everyone...
  8. I totally forgot about this!!!! I agree, this should be on page one!
  9. Thank you Linda... Its hard (for me) to come back knowing that I've failed (again). Its even harder for me to pick myself up and get back on the right track again. I KNOW I need a place to check in where I can surround myself with people who are going through the same things that I am. When I'm going through something its like I feel all alone, but its not until I reach out that I realize that I wasnt the only one... Thanks again.
  10. Good morning buddies, sorry to barge in... It's been a long time since I've posted but after reading about Sarah's success I felt like I needed to come out of hiding (congratulations, Sarah). I started doing core a while ago and had great success but then got careless and gained back most of what I had lost. I have been trying to get back on WW but just havent been able to find my groove. I'm trying the program again because I know that I can do it but I also know that I need support because I can't do it alone. So here I am...

I haven't posted in a LONG time... But I had to come out from lurking to say congratulations! Great job...
  12. Marinate chicken or pork in: 2 teaspoons of oil 1 teaspoon of vinegar (white for chicken, apple cider for pork - optional) 2 teaspoons of sofrito Salt & Pepper to taste 1/2 pack of "sazon" optional (http://www.goya.com/english/products/product.html?prodSubCatID=8&prodCatID=4) prepare meat so its core add all seasonings marinate over night if possible or as long as possible.
  13. You can serve this with brown rice instead of traditional white rice. A typical Puerto Rican (now core) meal at my house would be brown rice with beans, baked chicken and avocado. 2 Tablespoons of Sofrito (or two frozen servings **see recipe) 1/2 cup of plain tomato sauce 1 can of beans of choice (pink, kidney, garbanzo, etc...) 1-2 teaspoon of olive oil (canola works fine too) 1 package of "Sazon" (optional) (http://www.goya.com/english/products/product.html?prodSubCatID=8&prodCatID=4) saute sofrito in olive oil until you can smell it (sorry thats the way mom taught me); add tomato sauce, saute a few minutes more; add sazon (if using) stir; add beans and cook until beans are very tender (about 10 to 15 minutes)
