  1. When I go to the gym I'm doing:

     

    30 minutes various weight machines (light intensity) 2 APs

    30 minutes eliptical machine on the fat burn setting (high intensity) 6 APs

    30 minutes treadmill forrest trail setting, 4.5 mph max (moderate intensity) 3 APs

    15 minutes walking the track (light intensity) 1 AP

     

    The weight machines I am doing M-W-F. I do the eliptical, treadmill, and track M-F. I take Saturday and Sunday off. I pulled my AP calculations off my WW calculator based on my weight of 246.


  2. I was wondering what the max is for activity points you should eat during the day? I've started going to the gym recently and am averaging about 10 activity points earned the days I go and I'm thinking that I shouldn't be eating all those. Any suggestions?


  3. I've been busy with the boys lately here too, and then the joys of sticking to work at night. I've been trying to keep up with a video a day when I can. I replaced my desk chair with an exercise ball, downloaded a stretch clock to remind me to get up and move for a minute every hour that shows me stretches, and use the laptop in the kitchen standing up rather than sitting at a desk when checking e-mail and facebook. Afterall, you burn 3X the calories standing rather than sitting!


  4. Yesterday was a lazy day... just 2 miles with Leslie. Today was awesome!!! We took the boys to a close park/game preserve for a LONG walk, had a picinic, and went for another shorter walk. Then we took them to the playground area to hang out for awhile. As of now I have logged 22,000 steps. I got 121 minutes of moderate activity in, covered 8.46 miles, AND burned 1066 calories!!!! I wish we could go for that walk every weekend... I'm going to try to squeeze it in at least twice a month.


  5. Yesterday I got in my 8 minute Tae Bo video followed by 1 mile with Leslie. After dinner I did 4 miles of Leslie with DH.

     

    Today so far I have done the Walk and Kick video (30 minutes) as well as 30 minutes of Kathy Smith's Flex Appeal belly dancing video. I am going shopping after dinner and am going to see if I can squeeze in some yoga afterwards.


  6. I did a 30 minute George Foreman walk/circuit training DVD with DH tonight which was very interesting. It was kind of like Leslie but another step up. Worth the $1.99 that's for sure! I also tried out the 8 minute Tae Bo Get Ripped workout earlier in the day. 16 minutes total with the before and after stretches. I have always liked the idea of the tae bo workouts, but 3o+ minutes of it is way too much. This tape made me feel good because I could make it through the whole workout without stopping the tape! I'm sure eventually I will be able to work up to one of the full workouts. Tomorrow I am thinking of trying the Leslie Walk and Kick DVD for the 1st time. Yeah, my video stash came today so I'll be letting you know what I think of each one as I do them. :)


  7. I've been busy with work lately and my old computer has been freezing up if I do too much so I haven't been able to make it into chat. I have the new computer up and running now though, so I'll be able to join in again soon. I checked in a few minutes ago and I must have missed everyone tonight.

     

    Anyways, yesterday I did the 2 mile Walk and Tone video of Leslie's since it was on Exercise TV on Demand. I ordered a few new Leslie videos off of www.totalfitnessdvds.com since they had an awesome sale so I can't wait for them to show up! I got some non-Leslie videos as well including a 3 disc yoga instruction, balance ball, tae bo, belly dancing (Had to try it for $1.99 LOL), and a few others. I ordered a 10 VHS grab bag as well for $4.99 so we'll see what else comes in it. I can't wait!!!

     

    OOOOOHHHHH... and before I go, my doctor's office called back with my bloodwork results and they are "looking better than 3 months ago, but not perfect yet. to discuss on next visit." I guess was the message left in my file for me. I go on the 29th I think it is so we'll see.


  8. I just got done doing my Leslie You Can Do Yoga video and I liked it! It was probably too slow for some, but that gave me time to move into positions and stuff since I have never tried yoga before.

     

    I just bought the 2 mile jog and Walk and Kick movie off of www.totalfitnessdvds.com on sale for $5.99 each! I bought from them once before and they are super fast at shipping and great all around. Last time I ordered late Sunday night and had the videos Wednesday afternoon. We'll see how fast they get here this time. :)

     

    I'm trying to keep up with at least a mile a day depending on what the kids let me do, and I'm going to also start alternating evenings with yoga and the Walkblaster.


  9. Yesterday I managed 2 miles with Leslie. I'm going to try to work a tape in soon, but I am going to the mall tonight and will eb walking around there as well. DH is at the point in weightloss where he needs new clothes because his pants are too loose. Can someone loan him a cow prodder to jab me in the rear? I'm also on my feet every 15 minutes running Gavin to the potty in an attempt to get him potty trained. I hope it works soon! I got my hours cut for work so I'm hoping to be able to squeeze at least 30 minutes in for exercise a night by myself in the basement.


  10. Thursday was cleaning the house and a 2 mile date with Leslie.

     

    Friday I cleaned a little more and went out to dinner with DH, and then some quick shopping.

     

    Today I did some landscaping. We decided to put a rock garden in. I took charge and cleared the grass off the area which involved carrying huge buckets full up my porch steps and down the other side to an area in my back yard to dump it, so I did many steps while lifting weight. :) I let DH put the marble in and the border, then I arranged the gazing ball and other things. My calves hurt like heck tonight! Word of advice, DON'T ask a young kid at Home Depot if they have any gazing balls. It'll take him several times to be able to say it with a straight face when he pages lawn/garden. I'll post pictures of our project tomorrow hopefully.


  11. Okay, I was just checking my measurements and wanted to run it by someone else to see if it sounds right. I took my measurements 3 times on each body part just to be sure. All total I am down 9.25 inches in less than a month, yet WI on Saturday said I was up 1.5 lbs from my start weight (SW 237, CW 238.5). Does this sound normal to lose so many inches yet gain weight?

     

    I've been trying to get 12,000 steps in a day minimum with at least 30 minutes of moderate activity. All I've been doing is Leslie Sansone videos up until yesterday when I decided to up my workout a bit with a 4 week workout challenge from Exercise TV to give me a little variety.


  12. First, I'd double check that pedometer of yours. To get that many steps you'd probably have to be walking non-stop all day. The cheap ones will register steps even when you're sitting down.

     

    Second, eat your weekly points. At least eat half of them. It's counter-intuitive, but you need to eat to lose. It's like Goldilocks and the three bears. If you eat too much you gain. If you eat too little your metabolism slows and you don't lose. You need to eat just right, and that's what the daily + weekly points are -- just right.

     

    I'll definitely start working more of the weekly points in this week and see if that helps. As far as the pedometer goes, I know it's accurate. It is an Omron HJ-151 that counts regular steps and moderate (60+ per minute) seperately. It runs on an accelerometer sensor, not a pendulum like some of the cheap ones. I'm a SAHM of two little boys and two small dogs to keep me busy. Some days I've been trying not to sit on the couch much and march while doing dishes or pop in a 2 or 3 mile WATP video to get steps in.


  13. I got a pedometer at the beginning of the month and have been keeping track of my steps trying to make sure to get at least 10,000 a day if not more. Some days I have hit 17,000 and even up around 26,000. I'm typically doing Walk Away The Pounds videos for exercise or just walking in place. I've been eating 27 points a day and not really using any flex points, and I've never touched APs. My issue is that for the 2nd week in a row I have not lost anything. I had lost 3.5 lbs my 1st week before starting my walking and counting steps. The 2nd week DH's aunt passed away and we went off track, of course gaining it all back. I'm really loving these WATP tapes and the way I feel in the morning when I wake up! I'm just frustrated that the pounds are not coming off now for some reason. I had done the same videos and followed WW about 5 years ago and lost 12 lbs in just over 1 1/2 months. Should i be eating a few more points since I am exercising so much and am sending my body into starvation mode or something? On a chart I have to keep an eye on calories in/out (BMR and exercise included) I end up burning off 700 to 1,000 more calories a day than what I'm eating. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    I have just started getting back into them the past week or so doing at least one mile a day, sometimes up to 6. It is the only series I can keep up with and not get discouraged from tripping and falling. I am not coordinated whatsoever when it comes to following other videos.LOL I wish I were just a little bit closer.... she owns a facility about 45 minutes or so from me.
