  1. What a hoot that video of Odie swimming is!!! I don't think his entry is a dive, nor is it a belly flop. I think it could be classified as "toe skimming" !!! He is obviously one happy dog!!!
  2. Becky, Facebook says the video is unavailable due to privacy settings. Can you put it on Photobucket or something like that?
  3. Lynn, are you watching the finish of the Tour de France today? {edited to add: Silly me, I heard them talk about the "finish" coming up and I didn't realize it was the finish of the 10th "stage" of the race and there are 24 or 26 or so "stages." What do I know??!!}
  4. Hi all, I'm working from home today. There's supposed to be 3" of rain and flash floods. We don't get flooded where I live, but the highway I take to go to work is always bad and when there's the slightest bit of precipitation my commute can easily get to 2 hours. It was 1 1/2 hours yesterday and there was no precipitation, just traffic and leftover barrels from night construction. Without traffic it is only 40 minutes. So rather than spending the day in the car, I'm making meatloaf while it is cool enough to use the oven and we'll have grilled meatloaf slices for supper. Zucchini and summer squash in foil also on the grill. I had a baked potato in the freezer. It is thawing and I haven't decided what to do with that. I may just slice it up and heat it in foil with a little butter spray and some herbs. Lynn, Sorry you've had so much rain to interfere with your bicycling. Becky, so glad to see you back! I smile thinking of Odie in the pool! We have had a sighting of a Yorkie running along the road again (we'd had a month with no sightings) and so people up in Maine are again keeping their eyes out for our beloved Lulu. It is SO HARD being 4 1/2 hours away. Soya, nice to see you again, too! I know you follow a veggie or vegan menu, and I like a lot of those recipes, too! Wendy, good for you on your food choices. What else do you put in your green smoothie besides spinach? I have one that I love that is celery (6 stalks), cuke (1) and a green apple. Yum! Have a great day, everyone!
  5. Good morning everyone!! And I mean EVERYONE! Here's an invitation to those who don't participate so much to join in!! We need you!! It has been quiet lately and this is an excellent time to jump in and introduce yourselves!! Boy, I have had enough of this heat. We are supposed to get T-Storms all weekend and I hope that cools things off, but I haven't really looked to see if there is a front coming. I've been having a hankering for suppers that there is no way I'm going to cook in the heat!! Spaghetti is one. I'd also like to make a pan of SiFi lasagne to cut up into squares and have the squares in the freezer ready to go. And DH has been asking for some cookies (not SiFi, but I can have 1 and he can eat as many as he wants!). Hard to do that when you don't want to turn on the stove or the oven!!! I'm only working a half-day today. Maybe I should stay there, it is cooler in the A/C!! Have a great day, everyone!!
  6. Well, here I am! And I got on quickly, too, so I hope there was something that was fixed and others can get on quickly now, too! It would be nice if we knew that was WHY it was so slow. I mean, you can't tell that I didn't shower........ (only kidding, I did shower). But, still, you can't tell!! Obviously, this heat is getting to me. I'm sad to report that we have not found our beloved Yorkie. I still miss her terribly. I can't stay online because I've got to leave work and sit in traffic.
  7. HI Amy, Congratulations on the successful move and the 87 lbs! Great job on both counts! I hope you find a gym you like with good childcare. I know exactly what you mean about having SiFi "working in the background." Hope to see you around more now that you're settling in! Be well!
  8. To add insult to injury, I will add another post to say I have no idea why my first post got posted twice. ???????
  9. Hi Linda and all who follow, At work but haven't had breakfast, so I'm going to take a walk to the store and get some eggs and I'll zap a couple of eggs. The traffic was bad, so I just left the house to get to the office before the traffic got completely out of control. I thought it might be light this week due to the holiday coming up but it is not light at all and there've been some really bad accidents (like a dump truck and a pickup truck colliding and each doing a 270 degree spinout.) Congratulations on your management offer, Linda. It is really nice to hear that your skills and commitment to your position are appreciated. At the management level, you will be able to influence more the people who are in the position you are in now, and that will be great. My Mom is in an assisted living, and when the management doesn't have a clue (quite often, I'm afraid) it is bad for the residents. When the management "gets it" and they communicate that to the caregivers, then you have a system that works for the residents and the employees. Good luck in your decision-making. I laughed out loud about the TV remote. Several times while visiting my Mom I've entered my ATM password in the keypad at the door and wondered why the door is still locked.............. Good luck with all of your new home, shower residuals, and wedding stuff! Remember, "this too shall pass." One day, you may actually be bored!!!!!! (Hard to believe, I know!!)
