  1. Happy WI day to some of you!! I weighed in this morning at 164.2. That's a 2.8 loss this week. Completely undeserved and unexpected, but I will take it!! Hope you're feeling better Peggy! We welcome you to Friday WI's Trudie!! I find that they are MUCH easier for me.
  2. Hey all.. been sick. I did weigh in on Friday. I was down another .2 to 167. I will take it. Trudie.. I remember you from YEARS ago - we used to post on the Friday WI page together. Good to see you!! xoxo
  3. 167.2!! Down 3.8 pounds since last weigh in.. woop!
  4. Just my two cents - studies show that snacking throughout the day actually boosts your metabolism. I read somewhere that you should eat 5 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones. I'm not a big breakfast person myself, so I don't necessarily do this, but snacking doesn't HAVE to be bad. Maybe you could plan out your snacks after you go to the grocery? When I go to the grocery, I have to go ahead and cut up my lettuce and I vacuum seal about 5-6 mason jars full of lettuce. It lasts about 2 weeks that way (if we don't eat it by then), and then if I bought any snack foods, I portion them out in little baggies and write the points value on the outside. I buy things like carrots, grape tomatoes, grapes, triscuits, cheese, cucumbers, etc etc. It's easier to snack on healthy things if they are already prepared (for me anyway, because I tend to be lazy.. lol). You can do it grancy!
  5. Welcome Grandma to 3! You have certainly found what you have been looking for! There are plenty of boards for you to post on where people talk WW and life. Not sure if you'd prefer to group up with people your own age (not that you're old! lol I'm just assuming you aren't in your 30s since you are a Grandma to 3 but I have been wrong before!) or if it doesn't matter, you're welcome to join me. I post on the 20s, 30s, and 40s board (I'm 31) where I started a daily thread, but there are several places for you to jump right in. The boards are a bit more quiet than they used to be, but just jump on in anywhere. It's a very forgiving community. Welcome and good luck on your journey!
  6. Peggy, enjoy your trip! See you soon! Nancy - a loss is a loss! Keep up the great work. It will pay off! This time next year we can say "I am so glad that I did this" or we can say "I wish I would have stuck with it". We're going to be winning losers!
  7. Good morning!! My weigh in was slightly disappointing. I DO feel like it was justified because of my sick weekend so I’m trying not to take it to heart much, and also I didn’t follow my normal Thursday night protocol and I ended up making porkchops that were a bit salty. SO, it could be water weight and it could be just that my over the weekend foods turned on me. Either way, I am sticking with this – it’s just the first full week anyway. I still FEEL good. I weighed in at 171 this morning. That means I’m +1.5 lbs. Next week will be better, I can feel it. Peggy and any lurkers who have weighed in recently... hopefully you had some success this week?
  8. Sweet! Thanks for joining in! I will see "less" of you tomorrow and hopefully again in two weeks!!
  9. Anyone/Everyone up for a weekly weigh-in thread? It seems the folks that are here seem to already have their buddies established (which is great!), however, maybe we could form a little unity, if not just to post our successes TOGETHER? My WI day is Friday morning. But, we could all post during the week as we weigh in? A little cheering each other on, if you will? Anyone want in?
  10. Repost from another board:: Hello old friends.. and hopefully new friends... I used to be an active member here about 5 years ago and now I am back hoping for some motivation, inspiration, and also hoping to motivate and inspire! I'm 31 years old, have a 7 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. I lost 60 pounds with WW in 2007 right before I got pregnant with my daughter. After I had her, I lost 40 pounds, again with WW and then I got pregnant with my son and I'm still working on losing the weight I gained with him. My heaviest weight was when I was pregnant with my son - 220 lbs. Pre-preg heaviest weight was 190. I am at 170 pounds today and I would like to be at my goal weight of 135 by my 32nd birthday - next August. I like to think I was pretty helpful all those years ago and I have seen a few familiar faces already - Luanne - so nice to see you are still here. I'm not doing PointsPlus, however I am doing the old points program because I still have all the materials. I'd be glad to just motivate/be motivated with those of you doing PointsPlus - just need some backup from some buddies! If anyone is, however, doing the old Points program and want to start a daily thread with me, I would be grateful. I'm personally posting on the 20s, 30s, and 40s board, even if I'm by myself, the posting helps me stay accountable. Welcome new BCBers and hello to the ones who have been so diligent in keeping this site alive. I'm grateful to you, because you have helped me twice. Hopefully this 3rd time will be my LIFETIME goal. So glad to be back..
  11. Wow. Wasn't sure anyone was still here! lol I don't remember your username, texastoast (sorry) ... were you using a different name? I didn't usually post in the 20s & 30s board back that..not much anyway, but there were more boards back in the day. Anywho - I have been scouring for old faces!! All my old buddies have disappeared... but c'est la vie. Would love to be your accountability partner! I'm posting a Daily Thread (if only for myself! ha!) in the 20s & 30s if you want to join. BTW - I don't have the Instagram. I'm probably the only person in my age group that doesn't do the social media thing. DH wasn't too fond of me having it, and honestly, now that I don't have a FB, I kind of feel free. lol Anyone who wants to actually BE my friend has to *gasp* call, email, write me a letter or text me! I digress on that one... Anyway, I'm doing the OLD flex WW. Just because I know it works, I still have all my books and things, and its easier for me to eyeball a nutrition label because I was a self-taught WW'er. I bought the books and calculator, but PP was a little over my head. But again, I have never been to a meeting, so that's probably why. I never went to meetings, unless you count gathering here at BCB. When I started in '07-08, I originally lost close to 50 pounds. After having 2 kids, I couldn't manage my time and schedule enough to pull out a food journal, much less exercise. That said, my kids are now 7 and 5, so they are a BIT more self-sufficient, so I feel like I can manage myself a little better now. I've gained some weight for sure. I'd like to lose about 30-40 pounds, but I'm not sure how much - we'll see as the scale goes down. Anyway - feel free to join my Daily Thread if you'd like over in the 20s, 30s, and 40s thread. We don't have to be doing the same thing, but I will be posting my menu daily, if not just for me to help myself stay on "point". I'd be happy to motivate you/be motivated by you!
  12. Hiya! I'm an old member of BCB and recently returned..well..today! It's a lot quieter here than it used to be, however, I'd love to be your accountability partner! I started a thread over at "Fantastic 20s...30s..& 40s" about daily check-ins, etc. What program are you doing? Doesn't matter to me - I'm doing the old points program from '07 where you get the 35 weekly points in addition to your calculated daily points. Wanna be buddies? I am 31 and mom to 2 kids.. 3 if you count our dog, Levi. Married to DH since 2005. Let me know!

  14. What inspiration you are! You look younger and so much healthier and happier! Your husband has lost some weight too - guess he had to keep up with his trophy wife! Congrats!
  15. Nick - I remember you from years ago when you still had a long way to go - and here you are at the finish line. You should be so proud of yourself - you have done fantastic! And not vain - you deserve to be a little vain - you look fantastic!! And you're teaching your kids how to be healthy and fit. A great role model, which is a huge bonus! Congratulations - keep updating!
