  1. HI all, I am making meat sauce tonight and don't know the pt. value. I am using 93% lean ground beef and then tomato sauce, paste and stewed tomatoes. I threw in some seasonings (no extra sugar) and some mushrooms and green peppers. Do I count it as 4 pts. for 1/2 cup or less since it is lean ground beef? Thanks in advance? Elaine
  2. HI all,

I am making meat sauce tonight. I am unsure as to the points since I used 93% lean. I used tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, and tomato sauce in addition to some seasonings, green pepper and mushrooms. Does the pt. value go down since the meat is leaner or should I still count 4 pts. for 1/2 cup?

    Thanks in advance,

    Elaine

  3. For those of you in the Northeast (specifically NJ), I found the cheese at my local A and P. It was one of the larger ones though. Don't know if the smaller ones would have it though. The cheeses are so worth scouting out. They are delicious! Elle
  4. Hi alll, So today I had my first serving of dairy by melting two slices of fat free cheddar on my sandwich (for a total of 1.5 oz). I know that counts for a serving since it meets the requirements. Then I had a peach dannon lite yogurt, but it was only 6 oz. I read that a yogurt has to be 1 cup or 8 oz. for it to count as a serving of dairy. So, now I am short 2 oz. What do I do? Drink 2 oz. of skim milk or just fudge it a bit and count my yogurt as a full serving? for those of you who like yogurt, do you have to have the full 8 oz? I usually only like the dannon or stonyfield ones and I don't think either are 8 oz. I know how important dairy is, so I don't want to mess myself up, but getting a random 2 0z. of dairy seems kind of a pain. Thanks! Elle
  5. Wow! I am going to snack on shrimp more often!!!! Thanks! Elle
  6. HI all, I grabbed a shrimp cocktail in the seafood section at the market today. Six large shrimp were in the container with a lemon wedge and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were fresh and not breaded or anything. I just looked up how much the pts. would be on WW and it said that six shrimp would still be one point?! How can this be right? Elle
  7. HI all, I went out to a diner this morning with my son for his birthday. I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach and potato. I did not eat the hash browns or the toast and ordered a side of stewed green beans. I know they cook with oil and I am sure the green beans had pts. as well since they were stewed. How many do I count for this? I can master the point thing at home, but not so well when I go out to non-chain restaurants. Thanks in advance for the help! Elle
