  1. Check out hoopnotica.com and hoopgirl.com for inspiration on hooping. They do hoop with hoops that are larger than normal. You get more control that way. We love our hoopnotica hoops!

    Kung Pao Tofu

    We finally had this tonight. I liked it. My veggie daughter liked it. The other kids had mixed reviews (some liked it, some didn't it, one didn't like the tofu, etc). We did mix in some chili garlic sauce to add some spice to it. I will make this again. Edit: Two of the kids are taking it to school for lunch today, so they obviously liked it!
  3. I made the Shrimp and Grits tonight with the following modification. OMG, this stuff was soooo good. The grits could be a red-light for me, they were so good. I'll also put the points for my changes for those who do points. And I left out the hot sauce since I have young kids who would not have liked it hot. 2 cups water 14 oz fat-free, low-sodium chicken broth 3/4 cup fat-free evaporated milk 3/4 tsp salt 1 cup regular grits 3/4 c shredded fat-free cheddar cheese 1/4 grated Parmesan cheese 1 Tbs Butter Buds 1/4 tsp white pepper 3 oz Canadian bacon ============ 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/8 tsp salt 1 cup sliced mushrooms 1 tsp olive oil 1/2 cup chopped green onions 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 cup low-sodium, fat free chicken broth 2 Tbs fresh lemon juice Lemon wedges Bring first four ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan; gradually whisk in grits. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until thickened. Meanwhile cook Canadian bacon in skillet until browned. Remove to paper towel to drain, and cut into pieces. Add Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, Butter Buds, pepper and Canadian bacon to grits mixture. Stir well and keep warm. Sprinkle shrimp with salt and pepper. Saute mushrooms in 1 tsp olive oil in skillet for 5 minutes or until tender. Add green onions and saute for 2 minutes. Add shrimp and garlic and saute 2 minutes or until shrimp are lightly browned. Stir in chicken broth and lemon juice, and cook 2 more minutes (I cooked it for longer than this). Serve shrimp mixture over hot cheese grits. I figured points for the grits and the shrimp separately so I could have more or less of one or the other. And I did it based on various servings. Grits: 4 servings = 6 pts 5 servigns = 5 pts 6 servings = 4 pts Shrimp 4 servings = 3 pts 5 servings = 3 pts 6 servings = 2 pts Thanks so much for sharing this recipe and recommending alterations!

  5. I started WW last September. Had great losses. I started exercising in January, and the weight loss dropped. Drastically. It took about 6 weeks, then I started losing again. Then I really increased my level of work in my workouts in March, and again, my weight loss dropped. Drastically. Just last week (about 6 weeks into the new routine), my weight loss picked up again. It's very common for your body to take 6 weeks to adjust to new levels of exercise. Keep working and it will come!
  6. Although not an official "bender ball", we do sometimes use little balls like that in the group fitness classes at the gym I go to. I'm not a fan of them personally, because they make my back hurt. One of the instructors really seems to like them though. Note: a lot of ab exercises make my back hurt, and I adjust to ones that don't. Most people don't seem to have this problem. You can get the little play balls at the store and do the same things with them.

Some of my breakfast faves: Baked Oatmeal (I found a lot of recipes searching here). 1 pt worth of shredded potatoes, 1 cup peppers/onions (I use frozen), 1 pt of turkey/chicken breast or pre-cooked bacon - cook these in a pan with 1 tsp oil, then add 1/4-1/2 cup of Egg Beaters (or equivalent), and if I'm really decadent, I top it with 1 pt of 2% cheese. 1 or 2 pt bagel spread with WW Cream Cheese or 2% cheese, and topped with a cooked veggie mixture (I cook peppers/onions, squash, whatever in 1 tsp oil). It's a big veggie sandwich. 1/2 cup Egg Beaters cooked, rolled in a wrap with cheese, veggies, salsa, whatever I feel like throwing in there.
  8. They don't want blood from some of us. After living in Germany in the late 80s/early 90s, then in Turkey from 2002-2004, they won't take my blood. I'm willing to give, but nobody is willing to take.

    Walk to Run

    Look up the Couch to 5K program (google will bring up many results). There is the normal plan and a conservative plan. If you're already walking, you may be able to skip week 1. There are even podcasts of music that let you know when to change from running to walking for each week!

    Key Lime Pie

    I made this for St. Patrick's Day. We decided that we prefer it without the crust - just the filling. Very yummy. I was worried about a "diet" taste with the sugar-free jello, but didn't find that at all. Even the kids chowed down on it. I'm looking forward to trying it in different flavors now. I think this may be the thing to defeat my cheesecake cravings!
  15. Did you package not have nutrition information on it? The package I bought did, and it came out to 4 oz for 4 pts. Others are probably a bit different.
