  3. Hey Jasmine. Welcome to the site. I'm glad you got yourself started -- I'm like you, I need to get over the hump of the first week. After that I just keep going, one week at a time so it doesn't all seem like such a high mountain to climb. You can do it, just hang in there. Hope you'll post often. Good luck!

  5. Listen sweetie, the worst thing you can do for yourself is get depressed. It is so self-defeating, moreso than anything else. Make yourself a promise to do this one day at a time. You, like most of us, can't be in it for the short haul, it has to be for the lifetime haul. You're going to the gym, drinking your water, signed onto WW and are looking to eat well. It's all part of the lifestyle change you need to make. Can you promise yourself to take it one day at a time for now? Please try. First concentrate on tomorrow, and when tomorrow's over you can worry about Thursday. You'll find all the support you want or need here. You can do it. There are so many here who have successfully done it, and they're a constant inspiration to us all. Dry up that face, and let's get ready to face tomorrow. Can you give it a try? Just one day, okay? Let's see how it goes. You're gonna be happy with yourself, I just know it!! Don't make me put on a cheerleader outfit -- it'd be downright ugly at my age LOL! Start tomorrow with a renewed purpose and things will fall into place.

  8. Hi Paula and welcome! You came to the right place for encouragement. Any tips?? Well, first off, post often so we can come to know you. That can help you stay OP because if you falter, we'll give you a good swift kick back onto the track LOL! Second, plan-plan-plan so that you're never prepared for what you're going to eat. When I'm unprepared, I eat "whatever" and "whatever" is hardly ever good for me to be eating. Next, write everything in your food journal so you'll always know exactly how many points you have used during the day and how many are left. Like Irene said, the recipes here are great, and so are the groups. Hope we'll get to know you better. Good luck on your healthy WOL!

Good for you for getting serious and taking care of it while you're young -- it's soooo much easier and you gain so much more health benefit by avoiding all the problems the weight can bring you over time.   14. Welcome Clint! You found a great place for support and guidance. I hope we'll get to know you better by your posts. Nancy gave you tons of suggestions for great protein choices. I like to cook with beans - great fiber, very filling, good source of everything. I turn them into a soup or even a cold salad that we eat as a side dish. They sure taste a darn site better than Tofu LOL!
