  1. That's exactly what I feel.It's eating healthy,keeping a journal & keeping track of calories/points....whatever works.I'm not at all concerned with a different name.
  2. Yrs ago this poem, using diff words, but same cadence helped me to quit smoking. It's very powerful.I had it taped over the kitchen sink & read it several times a day. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Maybe we need a thread of what we've learned on WW.I've learned to stop buying junk food & why.I've learned to like whole wheat breads & pasta.I've learned to cut down a bit on all portions,to eat slower,to make veggies the star of the meal,to eat fruits as my snacks. I guess what I've learned the best,is how much I have to learn & WW is the best at teaching. I'm a very slow loser & have come to appreciate that.Hoping I'll learn more & never gain it back. The 1st thing I'd ask about any food plan/diet is "how will I keep the wt off? "I do believe that all diets work, as long as you stay on them. It's when real life steps in that you need a plan for the rest of your life.
  4. Thanks for sharing. The more info we have, the better choices we can make.
  5. I use rice vinegar for my dressing & squash in place of cukes.Squash isn't watery.I add seasonings of my choice, always Italian & garlic powder, black pepper.PL
  6. I'm on Flex & a slower loser was never born LOL.....so the foods you mentioned are very restricted.I have a swich for lunch most days, using bread that's whole grain & 2 slices for 1pt,cause it really fills me up,along with a small side of diet chips or whatever I have on hand.Maybe once every 2-3 wks,I'll have a baked white or sweet potato. All pasta is whole grain & I never cared for rice,so that isn't a problem.I keep a couple boxes of Fiber One bars, mostly to have if I need to have a portable snack.Fruit is my dessert of choice.I buy & eat a whole lot of beans (bean salad always in fridge) & have cut way back on meat.I make a lot of soup.....so no one is going hungry PL
  7. I also do WW at home....on my own, because I felt I'd found most of what I needed using library books/cookbooks,info on line & a friend bought me the few things I wanted.A points calculator, slider & a couple booklets. Think I use the calculator the most.I don't buy WW foods/snacks from meetings, but that's just me.My journal is a lined notebook from Walmart that I divide by dates.PL
  8. This is always in my fridge. This is what I use to make it. 2 or 3 cans of drained beans, kidney, garbanzo, white or black 1 or 2 large chuncked green & yellow zuchinni (doesn't get soggy) small dice onion medium diced peppers, red, green or yellow.....or some of each 1-2 celery stalks, diced Put all ingreds in a large covered container.I shake on garlic powder, italian seasoning & S&P to taste. Then add rice vinegar....maybe 1/4th C to start. Mix well, taste after a couple hrs in fridge & adjust seasonings. Good with crackers for lunch,on lettuce salad, even added to diet soup.I often add diced tomato when ready to eat,but not to the bowl & if for a meal....you can add some mozzarella or grated parmesan, even tuna or chicken. So good. PL
  9. Does anyone have the pts without the corn tortillas? Thanks,PL
  10. I just used this on chicken yesterday. From All Recipes. I doubled the amt.Used for a marinade, then poured all in a pan, along with the chicken & baked at 400* for 30 mins, then 10 mins uncovered. In small pan,add all ingreds, simmer till thickened. I added more garlic & 1 Tsp of sesame oil. Let cool, pour over chicken, or use as you like. 1 teaspoon cornstarch 1 teaspoon cold water 3 tablespoons sugar..... 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon cider vinegar 1 clove garlic, minced 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  11. Can this be made using boneless chicken thighs? That's what I have...thanks,PL
  12. It makes sense, especially for those who don't need a big brfast or lunch.I start counting at 12pm noon....as I need a good size lunch. That keeps me from being starved at supper time, then brfast is just a bowl of oatmeal or cereal. PL

    Turkey vs. Beef

Krogers also carries Laura's lean gr beef.Personally, I buy at least 90% lean...but I drain & blot with paper towels, all gr beef, before using in a recipe.
  14. How much bean water is reserved/used? Would you use that again or just the ch broth? PL
  15. I'm an older woman who has never had aaaan allergy of any type. After starting to use Splenda colas (rarely) & in baking,I started having occular migranes that came with a sick feeling. After several mos,by process of elimination, the tests showed I was allergic to Splenda.I had nearly stopped baking & soft drinks were never an issue. As of today,I've been migrane free for nearly 6mos.Nothing against Splenda, but according to Dr,anybody can develop allergies to most anything.Pat
